To champion students to and through their education and into careers as professional technicians.
V I S I O N
To harness the collective resources of the transportation industry to develop tomorrow’s workforce of qualified technicians by: Increasing awareness
& enthusiasm for the profession; Providing resources to help access quality education for those with financial need; Connecting future techs and industry through mentorship and career development opportunities.
2019 proved to be another year of programmatic growth for TechForce Foundation, as we continued to expand our reach and impact. We are changing people’s lives every day—helping so many young people explore this career path, pursue technical education, and prepare for a career that fits them! It’s time we help connect the dots for millions of young people trying to navigate their futures.
TechForce helped thousands of students get to and stay in school in 2019 by awarding $1.7 million to deserving students demonstrating financial need. We expanded our partnerships with tech schools and community colleges across the U.S., welcoming 36 new school partners to our program.
Our powerful storytelling aimed at future techs, their parents and influencers, reached more than 315 hundred million impressions…. – highlighting testimonials of working techs and celebrating techs as essential workers in keeping America rolling. Our two annual promotions, “Because I’m a Tech…” (Labor Day promo) and “Be a Pathfinder” (January) were wildly successful, with our many of our partners helping to push our new public service ad, “Get Hands On.” FutureTech Tuesday’s monthly social media posts drew a lot of activity, as did our Techs Rock and FutureTechs Rock awards.
In 2019, TechForce went deep into communities where future techs live --proudly unveiling the TechForce Mobile STEM Career Center, a 2,000 square foot interactive, pop-up exhibit that travels to car shows, STEM expos, career fairs and communities where our future techs live, so that they (and their parents and counselors) can explore how being a vehicle technician is a prosperous STEM career.
A core value of TechForce is collaboration. Thus when the opportunity came in the summer of 2019 to join forces and share backend services with three other nonprofits working to preserve and evolve car culture, community and careers, the synergy and efficiencies couldn’t be ignored. Our board of directors elected to enter into a strategic alliance with America’s Automotive Trust, LeMay-America’s Car Museum and RPM Foundation, united under one CEO (TechForce’s own Jennifer Maher), and work together to ignite young people’s passion for car culture, community and careers. By building their passion early and connecting them to resources throughout their journey, we ensure tomorrow’s automotive enthusiasts and workforce remain strong.
Thank you to YOU, and all our corporate, individual and foundation donors who invest in the TechForce mission. Together we will help steer the future success of tomorrow’s workforce of technicians.
Chris Blanchette TechForce Board of Directors, President/Chairman 2020-2021 VP Strategic Store Operations, Advance Auto Parts

TechForce Mobile STEM Career Center
Thanks to support from Shell Pennzoil, TechForce debuted its 2,000 square foot Mobile STEM Career Center in 2019 at Barrett-Jackson Mohegan Sun (June) and Las Vegas (October), welcoming students of all ages to explore the auto/diesel career path. Industry partners AutoZone, Ford, General Motors, Penske Truck Leasing and Snap-on sent staff to meet future techs and man the various interactive stations featuring a quick pit stop tire change, portatree, electric circuit breadboard, Go Nuts Challenge sponsored by Snap-on, and more. TechForce received generous donations of a 12’ trailer from Dana and Jed Rapoport, and a 28’ box truck from Penske Truck Leasing giving us full mobility for the future!
