Brush Benders Issue 4 - 2019 July - August - September www.brushbenders.com www.facebook.com/brush.benders Letter from the President: Hello Painting Friends, I hope this finds you all well and that you are enjoying summer. As many of you know Mark and I just returned from an African Safari with some friends. It was such an amazing experience. You’d think we’d get tired of seeing wildlife, but nope, it just brought more smiles to our faces. It was a trip of a lifetime. Now it’s time to get back to reality. The board had a discussion regarding board meetings and attendance. As we all know, schedules are ever changing and sometimes we just can’t make it to meetings. So we’ve decided to have only 4 board meetings a year, which means the newsletter will cover 3 months — keep it in a safe place — and at times we will meet just prior to our general meeting. Maybe that will appeal to some of our members to participate on the board. In a couple weeks some of us will be attending the final HOOT convention in Columbus, Ohio. So I’m now pulling supplies together for the classes I’ll be taking. We’ll have some fun show ’n tell when we return. Enjoy the sun while it’s here and show us what you’ve been up to at our next meeting. Letter from the President:

Hello Painting Friends, I hope this finds you all well and that you are enjoying summer. As many of you know Mark and I just returned from an African Safari with some friends. Hi Friends! Summer has arrived and we are able to take the messy projects outside and not be concerned with destroying the floors or carpets for a couple of months! Acrylic pouring is so much fun outdoors! We have some very cool projects coming up for the rest of summer and early fall that I am certain you will not want to miss! July brings a great opportunity to explore new skills with Mixed Media Art Journaling with Dianne. She has published a material list so you can get a new journal to work in or grab one from your stash! August brings a great country scene with Diane Glover teaching and September Tammy Kubat will be teaching, watch your email for a list of what we need to have for September. We are very fortunate to have great talent in our group that is willing to share. Several of our members will be home from the final HOOT and I know that they will be anxious to share all the excitement gained from being in creative community with us! Keep bending your brushes and bring your show and tell for all to see! Pam Stapula, Projects

I know, I know, it’s way to early to start thinking about our annual Christmas party but since we are going to change our newslett! format and have it cov! 3 months at a time we thought we would give you a heads up on the preliminary plans.

The theme is “It’s Snowing Men” and we would love for ev!yone to participate in the wrapped ornament exchange — handmade, by you or someone else but not store bought with a snowman theme — so get your thinking caps on and your little hands busy making a cute ornament.

It will be on Monday, Novemb! 25 at 6 pm at Au"ee’s in South Lyon (last years location). We will collect hat and mittens and non p!ishable foods.
