Camp DirectorJERRY ABRAHAMHead Volleyball CoachJerry Abraham is entering his 33rd season as the head coach of the Madonna University

volleyball team. Under his direction, the Crusaders have accumulated 1,203 wins to 308 losses, 15 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championships and have made 17 NAIA National Championship appearances. Abraham is one of the best coaches the game has ever seen, sitting atop the NAIA career wins list and is one of just nine coaches across all levels of collegiate volleyball to surpass the 1,000-win mark. A 2004 NAIA Hall of Fame inductee and Madonna’s first ever Hall of Fame inductee, Abraham was named the 2005 NAIA and AVCA National Coach of the Year after leading his team to a 48-2 record and NAIA Final Four berth. Madonna finished that season ranked third in the nation. In his time at MU, Abraham’s players have earned NAIA All-America honors 46 times to go along with 12 WHAC Player of the Year selections and 51 NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

ELITE ADVANCED ALL-SKILLS CAMPJune 17-June 20 (Mon.-Thur.)Designed for the JV/Varsity HS PlayerTime: 8:30 am - 12:00 pm | Cost: $140/per playerThe Advanced Camp is designed to provide an advanced experience for players who desire to improve their overall volleyball skills at a high level. There will be intense training on all facets of both offensive and defensive play. Get a taste of what collegiate practices are like in this fast-paced and competitive environment.

GENERAL ALL-SKILLS CAMPJune 17-June 20 (Mon.-Thur.) Open to all playersTime: 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm | Cost: $140/per playerThe General Skills Camp is designed to meet the needs of the beginning or experienced middle school/high school athletes. Concentration will be on the development of the overall facets of both offensive and defensive play. Both Elite and General Camps are structured the same.

SETTERS CAMPSetters will be placed in Advanced or Beginner groupsJune 24-June 27 (Mon.-Thur.) Open to all playersTime: 8:30 am - 12:00 pm | Cost: $140/per playerThe Setters Camp is designed to enhance and develop the skills and techniques of the beginning as well as the advanced volleyball setter. The focus of the entire camp involves providing each setter the opportunity to strengthen all facets of setter play.

HITTERS CAMP SESSION 1June 24-June 27 (Mon.-Thur.) Open to all playersTime: 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm | Cost: $140/per player

Due to the popularity of the hitter’s camp we have added an extra campsession. Both session 1 and 2 are separate camp opportunities. Interested athletes can register for either one or both sessions. The content structure of both sessions are the same. (See details for camp description below).

HITTERS CAMP SESSION 2June 28-July 1 (Fri.-Mon.) Open to all playersTime: 8:30 am - 12:00 pm | Cost: $140/per playerThe Hitters Camp places emphasis on the teaching of proper footwork patterns and approaches, jump techniques, arm action, shot selection and overall training process relating to spiking mechanics and progression. The camp will also cover blocking and serving techniques. This camp involves extensive leg work and physical activity and participants should prepare accordingly.

DEFENSIVE SPECIALITY CAMPJune 28-July 1 (Fri.-Mon.) Open to all playersTime: 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm Cost: $140/per playerThe focus of this unique camp session involves providing each athlete the opportunity to strengthen all facets of their defensive play. The entire camp session is oriented towards drills involving fundamentals, techniques, movement patterns and systems that relate to the defensive player. Skills involved in serving and serve reception passing also make up an integral part of this camp experience.

LITTLE CRUSADERSJuly 2-July 3 (Tue. & Wed.) 4 - 8 years oldTime: 8:30 am - 12:00 pm Cost: $50/per playerLittle Crusaders is something we are adding this year. The focus of the camp is to learn motor skills as a whole, with an emphasis of learning the game of volleyball. Introducing the concept of the game, practicing hand-eye coordination and then applying it within different games.
