Go over the green metal bridge and make the immediate left onto Twenty Mile Bend Boat Ramp Road. Commonly Asked Questions

Ë Who operates the range? The Sheriff’s Office operates the range withfinancial support from the Board of CountyCommissioners.

Ë What will be the range hours during public usedays?The range will be open between 8:00 AM and5:00 PM on Saturdays and 8:00 AM and 4:00PM on Sundays. Shooters will be accepted until4:00 pm on Saturdays and 3:00 pm on Sundays.

Ë What are the amenities available at the range?Amenities include a parking lot, restroom facility,water fountains, vending machines, shootingbenches, shade canopies, and target frames.

Ë How can I get on the e-mail list to receive theannual brochure for the range?Contact Palm Beach County at (561)233-0255and request to be placed on the e-mail list. Youcan also request to be placed on the e-mail list bye-mailing your name and address [email protected].

Ë How long will I be able to shoot?Range time is limited to two (2) hours pershooter. Request for more time will be on a caseby case basis if no shooters are waiting forshooting positions.

Ë Are there age restrictions?Yes. Shooters under 18 years of age must beaccompanied and under constant supervision of aparent or legal guardian and must sign a MinorChild Waiver. In addition, shooters between 10and 14 years will be authorized to handlefirearms on the shooting line under the directsupervision of a parent or legal guardian. Theparent or legal guardian will be responsible fortransporting the firearm to and from the firingline. No minors under the age of 10 are allowedon the range.

Range Use Requirements

L At all times, firearm safety rules will bestrictly adhered to, and any violation willresult in the loss of shooting privileges.

L All shooters and spectators on the firing lineshall be required to have eye protection andear protection.

L No open toed shoes allowed.

L All shooters will execute the County requiredliability waiver, and show a valid driverslicense or Florida identification card.

L Firearms will be limited to rifles, shotguns,and black powder long guns in calibersgenerally used for sporting events andhunting. No fully automatic weapons orhandguns will be allowed.

L Restricted ammunition is as follows: No steelcore or armor piercing rounds; exploding orincendiary rounds; and no tracerammunition. Range safety personnel reservethe right to inspect rounds to preserve safetyand range integrity.

L All rifles, shotguns, and black power riflesmust be brought to the firing line unloadedand encased.

L No smoking or eating is allowed on thefiring line.

In accordance with the provisions ofthe ADA, this document may berequested in an alternate format. Contact Palm Beach County at (561)233-0255.

* The County will discontinue this programwithin 30 days of the Florida Fish &Wildlife Conservation Commission openingthe Shooting Sports Park to the public,which is accessible from Seminole PrattWhitney Road adjacent to the J.W. CorbettYouth Park.
