2019 TUBA-EUPHONIUM WORKSHOP
Welcome to the 36th annual United States Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Workshop (TEW); the largest of its kind in the world. We are proud to host this event here at Brucker Hall on the Fort Myer side of Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall (JBM-HH)—home of The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own.”
Since the inception of this workshop in 1983, there have been many notable and brilliant performances. As you
peruse this year’s schedule, you will see another world-class lineup featuring Chris Olka, SFC Daniel Ord, Dr. Gail Robertson,
SFC Lauren Curran, Peder MacLellan, and Dr. Timothy Northcut. Artist bios and photos are posted on our website: usarmyband.com/tuba.
Once again we have organized a Mock Service Band Audition which will be held from 8AM to 1PM on Saturday which is open to the public. Our annual Tuba-Euphonium Workshop Solo Competition final round-this year for Euphonium—will be at 4PM on Wednesday. The winner will be announced at the 7:30PM Chamber Concert on Wednesday and showcased on the Grand Concert on Saturday night at 7:30PM. Also, the winner of the TEW Composition Competition will be announced at the Chamber Concert on Wednesday as well.
The JBM-HH Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (FMWR) office has put together a wonderful exhibit hall with 14 vendors. Check them out in the Fort Myer Community Center on Friday from Noon to 5:30PM and Saturday from 9AM to 5:30PM.
Also, please spread the word that ALL workshop events will be live web streamed at usarmyband.com for friends and family who are unable to attend in person. I hope you will enjoy your visit to Brucker Hall and leave with fond memories of great performances, new insights, and lasting friendships.
