its aggressively chiseled design tells you so well before you ignite

the engine. Up front, the bold Diamond Pentagon Grille is flanked

makes a big impact. The large dual oval exhaust outlets tucked away neatly in the piano-

A-Spec front bumper perfectly matched to the signature Diamond Pentagon Grille that’s

Welcome to a cabin built to inspire. Inside the TLX A-Spec is a

wealth of comfort, style, and inspiration. And it all begins in the

driver’s seat. Whether you choose a red leather-trimmed interior

or the ebony leather with Alcantara® trim, the front seats are

finished with more aggressive side bolsters to better support the

driver. And the unique A-Spec steering wheel is engineered with

a thicker rim to offer the driver a more confident grip, while red

accent lighting and instrumentation are there to inspire the driver

to make the most of the TLX and all its abilities.

Enter the TLX, and you enter a driver-centric cabin. The seat—wrapped

in available Milano premium leather trim finished with contrast stitching

and piping—is as supportive during tight, high-speed maneuvers as it is

comfortable during long, open-road drives. And the wealth of information,

as intuitive as it is vast, is delivered on two screens; the top screen

connects the driver to navigation, vehicle information, and smartphone,

while the lower screen delivers access to entertainment and climate control.

The relationship between car and driver compels

every design decision at Acura. In the TLX,

it’s a focus that created an interior wrapped

around the driver. Keeping the driver stable during

performance maneuvers is a precision-crafted

advanced seat frame, while amenities such as

multiple levels of available heating and ventilation,

ten-way adjustability, sculpted side bolsters, and

an available heated steering wheel are all there to

assure supreme comfort.

We believe horsepower is the beginning of the performance

story, not the end, which is why, to make the most of the

TLX’s horsepower, we offer an available 3.5-liter, 290-hp,

i-VTEC® V-6 or a standard direct-injected, 206-hp inline-4.

And we created handling technology as advanced as the

engines are powerful. The TLX comes equipped with the

world’s first Precision All-Wheel Steer™ system, in which the

rear wheels assist the front wheels, independently adjusting

their toe angles to increase steering precision during

cornering, lane changes, and even parking. As well, every

TLX is equipped with Agile Handling Assist,® technology

that can apply braking to individual wheels as needed to

help keep the TLX on its intended performance line. Also

available is Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®), a

revolutionary torque-vectoring technology born from racing

that turns even the most demanding driving moments into

some of your most confident performance experiences.


Cornering

When cornering on dry surfaces, up to 70 percent of

the torque is distributed to the rear. Torque vectoring

allows up to 100 percent of that power to distribute to

the outside rear wheel, improving control and helping

rotate the TLX through the turn.

Lane Change

For increased stability during lane changes, the

SH-AWD system transfers power to the inside

rear wheel.

Slippery Road

Under slick conditions, SH-AWD actively sends power

to the wheel with the most traction.

Highway Cruise

For better fuel efficiency, up to 90 percent of the

power is sent to the front wheels when cruising in

a straight line.

That is the power of available Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD), a torque-vectoring system that creates

an incredibly stable driving platform and turns corner after corner into some of your best high-performance

experiences. SH-AWD distributes power front to back and to each rear wheel based on wheel speed, steering

angle, rate of steering, lateral G-forces, and yaw rates. A chalkboard’s worth of math translates into a very simple

benefit: across a vast range of weather and road conditions, you get superior handling and confidence. From

tight hairpins to high-speed lane changes to the loop after loop up a full parking garage, SH-AWD dramatically

improves almost every drive every day.

Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS®) is a world’s first

from Acura—a system that engages the rear wheels

to assist the front wheels during cornering, lane

changes, and braking. It’s an innovation that reads

the driver’s inputs as well as inputs from the vehicle

and then independently adjusts the toe angle of each

rear wheel. The result is a noticeable improvement in

vehicle steering precision at almost every speed.

During high-performance driving, Agile Handling

Assist increases vehicle responsiveness and stability.

The system can brake individual wheels as needed,

effectively using brake torque vectoring to directly

When you engineer a car with as much potential as the TLX, you

want to make sure all that potential is realized. That’s why every

TLX is equipped with our Integrated Dynamics System (IDS) that

perfectly sets up the car’s technology to deliver four unique modes

of Precision Crafted Performance. Click from Normal mode into

Sport mode, and the TLX instantly dials up throttle response,

increases the top end of shift points, weights the steering for a

more connected feel, and puts the P-AWS or SH-AWD system on

notice to deliver more aggressive responses. Sport+ takes that

aggressive demeanor one step further, with even higher shift points

and rev-matching downshifts for better balance when quickly

running up and down the gears. And, should you feel like making

the most of your fuel rather than your horsepower, Econ mode is

at the ready to encourage both the engine and climate control to

operate more efficiently, improving fuel savings.

The TLX delivers a full suite of advanced, active safety and driver-

assistance technologies as standard equipment. We call that

suite AcuraWatch,™ a network of systems designed to increase

awareness and support the driver, working to help prevent, avoid,

and mitigate impacts.

AcuraWatch uses sensors that can continuously monitor the

vehicle’s surroundings, warning of potential threats, automatically

providing steering input to help keep you in the center of a detected

lane, automatically braking the vehicle when necessary to maintain

a set interval from a vehicle detected ahead and, when necessary,

emergency-braking to help avoid frontal collisions.

In addition, our available Surround-View Camera system gives

you a 360-degree view of the space around the TLX, which is

extremely helpful when backing into tight parking spaces. The

system also delivers a front wide-angle view that’s useful when

Acura’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure is designed to absorb and disperse frontal

impact energy so less force is transferred to what really matters: the people inside. But we didn’t stop there.

Crash compatibility is designed into the structure as well, so in the event of a frontal collision, the occupants

of all vehicles involved are better protected. ACE incorporates extra bracing at the front corners to absorb and

distribute impact energy from narrow-offset collisions to the primary crash structure. The outer braces are

designed to transfer impact load toward the center of the frame, where the energy can be distributed around the

cabin area more evenly. This enhanced frontal-crash-energy management helps reduce the forces transferred to

the reinforced cabin and can help to more evenly disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles in a collision.
