Nestled in enchanting woodland gardens, the Penmorvah Manor is conveniently located only a short drive from the sailing port of Falmouth and beautiful Cornish beaches of Gyllyngvase, Swanpool and Maenporth.

We can host up to 100 guests for the Civil Ceremony and Wedding Breakfast. For evening parties we can host up to 120 guests, making Penmorvah Manor perfect for small, intimate weddings, larger weddings and everything in between.

Featuring a selection of elegant reception rooms, a beautiful Sundeck with a picturesque view and 27 attractively appointed en-suite bedrooms; the Penmorvah Manor truly is a home from home. Those of you looking to hold a civil ceremony or wedding breakfast will delight in our traditionally decorated Victorian Manor House.

Outdoor enthusiasts will love the backdrop of the rolling hills and luscious greenery - especially if the Sundeck features during your big day. The Sundeck is situated just off a charming private patio area overlooking our manicured lawns, wisteria covered walls and sumptuous woodland surrounds.

Civil Wedding Ceremony & Evening Reception

We are delighted to cater for couples who wish to hold their wedding ceremony in the hotel; a room hire charge will apply. Please refer to the tariff table for prices.

Once you have decided upon your date and checked availability, contact the Superintendent Registrar to make arrangements for the Service.

Only the Superintendent Registrar can permit a civil, non-religious ceremony. Any music, readings, works or performances, which form any part of the ceremony, must be secular and the content agreed in advance with your registrar. To date the law states that during the ceremony no religious music can be played. The Hotel has a system for background music or you may like to hire a musician of your choice.

We suggest that you decide upon four types of music:

First: Pre wedding music, to settle guests in preparation for the bridal party – 20 minutes duration

Second: Entrance music – 2 minutes – bridal party walks in (please be upstanding for the entrance)

Third: Signing of register – 10 minutes – (congratulations please sign registrar)

Fourth: Leading the party out music – 2 minutes – (please be upstanding for the Newlyweds)

Please remember that the General Public cannot be excluded from the ceremony & no food or drink can be permitted in the ceremony room.

Furthermore, a Civil marriage cannot take place without the Superintendent Registrar and the Registrar being present and a separate fee is payable to them for their attendance.

Bio-degradable confetti is permitted for use in the grounds with pleasure.

Evening Receptions are most welcome at the Penmorvah Manor. The Bridal couple are required to offer an

evening buffet menu to their friends and family. For pricing, please refer to the tariff table. Throughout the

year entertainment may be held until 12.00am (prompt). Carriages may be ordered thereafter.


Menus Creating your Wedding Breakfast menu is easy! Please select one package from the brochure and choose a selection of three choices per course. We would require the following selections within every Wedding Breakfast menu; one soup and two other starters to include one vegetarian/vegan choice, three main courses to include one vegetarian/vegan choice and three puddings. Full pre-orders are required to provide a smooth and efficient service. Canapés, Drinks Package, Evening Reception Buffets and Entertainment are extra to this. Bespoke enquiries are very welcome.

Bar and Drinks We have a recommended choice of drinks for your reception, however should you wish to view our full wine list, then we would be happy to oblige. Regrettably, we do not offer corkage or allow alcoholic favours.

Cake Stand and Cake Knife We are happy to make available a simple cake stand and a cake knife for you to use on your wedding day. If you need some advice on Cake suppliers, we are happy to assist.

Table Appointments We will happily provide crisp White Linen on your Wedding Breakfast Tables. Other pastel colours can be hired and we are pleased to advise you of availability, suitability and price. We can arrange for simple place cards, menu cards and table plans at a set fee.

Master of Ceremonies An experienced member of our Management team will guide you through the formalities of your day.

Accommodation For weddings of 60 or more, the Bridal couple are invited to be our guests at the hotel for complimentary overnight accommodation in the Bridal Suite with a full Cornish breakfast. For a wedding of less than 60 guests, the Bridal couple are offered a discount of 50% on the Bridal Suite. Guests are very welcome to stay at the Penmorvah Manor and are offered a 10% discount against the regular Hotel Tariff (all Hotel Rooms are subject to availability, discount is not available on self-catering cottages).

Our Wedding Menus are designed to compliment your special day. We are pleased to offer vegetarian and vegan alternatives and we are able to cater for any special diets. Some dishes may contain traces of nuts – please

enquire if you have any allergies so we can tailor the menu to accommodate your particular requests.

All of our food is freshly prepared and cooked by our experienced brigade of chefs using the finest of West Country produce.

‘An agreement amongst friends’

Disagreements between friends usually stem from a misunderstanding; therefore we find it useful to have a form of contract in the unlikely event that a disagreement arises. With this in mind we have set out beneath our Terms and Conditions, additionally, we advise guests to consider Independent Wedding Insurance for peace of mind.

Reservations

• Confirmation of a booking requires a security deposit of £1000, which is non-refundable.

• All bookings must be confirmed by paying a deposit. By paying the deposit you are thereby in acceptance of the contract and terms and conditions set out by Penmorvah Manor Hotel.

• All bookings for Penmorvah Manor Hotel are made through Penmorvah Manor Hotel. Customers are recommended to take out wedding insurance.

• The Customer shall be responsible for any damage caused to Penmorvah Manor Hotel, including the furnishings, utensils and equipment therein by the wilful act or default of the customer, or guests of the customer and shall pay the amount required to make good or remedy any such damage. Please note you will be responsible for your guest’s behaviour and we will seek reimbursement from yourselves for any damage caused

• Penmorvah Manor Hotel reserves the right to ask a guest to leave the premises, if it is deemed that their behaviour is unacceptable to the management.

• Bedrooms on hold for functions will be released 3 months prior to the function if not confirmed in writing or by deposit received.

Payments/Prices

• An interim payment of £1000 is required 6 months prior to the Wedding date, which is non-refundable.

• Payment is required by Bank Transfer, Cheque, Debit Card or Cash. Cheques should be made payable to Penmorvah Manor Hotel.

• The final numbers and balance owing to Penmorvah Manor Hotel will be paid no later than two weeks prior to the event

• Please note that all prices are inclusive of VAT at the standard rate of 20% and will be adjusted without notice if the rate is changed.

• Prices will be subject to change annually, although prices agreed at the initial booking date will be fixed.

• All Weddings booked are contracted on the estimated guest numbers given at the time of booking. If the number of guests attending fall below 25% of the original booked number, this may incur a fee at the Hotel’s discretion.

• The Customer will be charged for additional numbers if guest numbers increase during the 14 days prior to the event, the additional amount will need to be settled prior to the event. If the numbers fall within 14 days Penmorvah Manor Hotel cannot refund the customer for the decrease in the guest’s numbers.

• Service charge is not included, gratuities are at the client’s discretion.

Cancellations

• Penmorvah Manor Hotel reserves the right to cancel any booking forthwith and without any liability on its part in the event of any damage, or destruction of the facilities by fire or other causes, such as; any shortages of labour or food suppliers, strikes, walkouts or industrial unrest, disease, or any other cause beyond the control of Penmorvah Manor Hotel, which shall prevent it from performing its obligations in connection with any booking. In these circumstances, every effort will be made to accommodate the booking in another suitable establishment.

• If Penmorvah Manor Hotel must cancel your function for reasons beyond their control all monies paid including deposit will be refunded.

• If the client wishes to cancel, then charges are applicable and listed in the ‘timescale for cancellation charges’ section.

Timescale for Cancellation Charges

• Over 12 months prior to the event - Refund of all monies paid (except for the initial deposit)

• Between 12 to 6 months prior to the event - 25% of the estimated invoice is payable

• Between 6 and 3 months prior to the event - 50% of the estimated invoice is payable

• Less than 3 months prior to the event - 100% of the estimated invoice is payable

Your estimated invoice will be based on the numbers agreed at the time of booking and will include room hire, any room reservations booked, the chosen food & beverage packages indicated at the time of booking plus any extras reserved. All deposits are non-refundable. In all instances, notification of cancellation must be made in writing and will be effective on the date received by the hotel.

Miscellaneous

• Musicians and Entertainers will be expected to abide by the procedures and safe-working practices set out by

Penmorvah Manor Hotel. Musicians and Entertainers must have a current public liability insurance policy and PAT

testing certificate for which Penmorvah Manor Hotel reserves the right to request a copy.

• Flower decorations, cameras, hats and other items including gifts are the responsibility of the client. Any flowers, gifts

and guest’s belongings left on the premises after the event will be stored to be collected the following day by 11 am.

Flowers will be disposed of after this time.

• Access time on the day of the event to Penmorvah Manor Hotel is permitted by prior arrangement.

• Only the Wedding Carriage or disabled cars will be permitted to park outside the entrance. All other guest’s cars or

contractor’s vehicles must be parked in the car park and are left at the owner’s risk.

• Coats and personal possessions are left on the premises at the customers risk.

• The customer shall not arrange for the delivery of any goods or materials to Penmorvah Manor Hotel unless by prior

arrangement of Penmorvah Manor Hotel.

• The customer shall not store or place on the premises any inflammable, combustible, or objectionable substances or

liquid.

• Penmorvah Manor Hotel cannot allow food or drink to be consumed other than that purchased on the premises,

Penmorvah Manor Hotel does not allow corkage or alcoholic favours.

• Penmorvah Manor Hotel will not be held responsible for the accidental damage in the movement and positioning

of Wedding Cakes, Vases, Candles, Gifts or any decorations. We once again encourage that clients have Wedding

Insurance Cover.

• The use of candles and naked flames are at the hotels discretion.

• Penmorvah Manor Hotel does not allow confetti cannons, smoke or bubble machines.

• Only Biodegradable confetti can be used on the premises and gardens.

• Penmorvah Manor Hotel does not allow Fireworks or Chinese lanterns, but sparklers are allowed on the lawn and not

the sundeck. If using sparklers, the client will need to provide a steel bucket and sand to dispose of safely.

Customers should note that Penmorvah Manor Hotel is an old building which by its very nature creates likely hazard spots,

such as, steps, uneven flooring and open fires and these may cause accidents, or even result in injury. Penmorvah Manor

Hotel and the proprietors thereof, cannot be held responsible for any accidents or injuries sustained by customers whilst on

the premises of Penmorvah Manor Hotel, the gardens or its surroundings.
