Safety Precautions● Masks will be worn as you walk from your car/bus to the LE.
● Masks should not have any political messages or scary/inappropriate images.
● Temperatures will be taken prior to entering the LE in the morning.
● Hands will be washed after entering the LE and hourly throughout the day.
● Touch-Free Hand Sanitizer stations are located in each LE and in all areas of campus.

● Salads and breakfast are ordered a day in advance by your child’s educator.
● Tardy students may not order hot lunch after 9:30 am.
● All students can order hot lunch or bring a healthy lunch from home.

● The cost for hot lunch is $2.25- $3.00 per lunch. Students can order just milk for $0.50.
● You can pay for hot lunches two ways: ○ Bring lunch money in advance in a well-sealed envelope or
small zip lock bag with:● Your child(ren)’s first and last NAME, LE#, PIN # and
total amount (or how amounts are to be divided).
○ Prepay at MySchoolBucks.com.
● No money will be collected by the food service.
Absences● Please email us at [email protected].
● We require an excuse note or email within 3 days of an absence. The note should include: your child’s first AND last name, the reason for absence, date of absence(s), and LE number.
● Please notify the educators and the administration in advance regarding extended absences. Please see the Family handbook for more detailed information about attendance.

Student Electronics & Technology● During school hours, students may NOT have cell phones (or gaming
devices) in their possession.● A student’s cell phone MUST be turned off immediately when he/she
steps on campus.● Phones are collected, stored, and locked in the LE during the school
day. NO EXCEPTIONS. IVMS is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
● Note: Cell phones (or other gaming devices) will be confiscated if found in the student’s possession on campus without prior special permission. Parents will then need to make an appointment with administration to collect the device in person.

agreement for Technology and Networks before your child may access any computer at school. Make sure your child understands the importance of privacy of login information.
● Computers/iPads brought from home are the child’s responsibility.

● Car line begins: 8:05 am● School day begins: (Bell will sound) 8:35 am ● After 8:35 students MUST sign in at the main office.
No exceptions. (LE 23 parents would then drive their child over.)
● Note:○ ALWAYS carry your carline ID card when you are
dropping off or picking up. ○ Teachers are not available for conferences at this time.
Dismissal & Pick Up Times● Elementary (K-2)/Early childhood:
○ Pickup from 2:45-3:00 pm● Elementary (3-4)/Early childhood:
○ Pickup from 3:00-3:15 pm● Upper School and Secondary (5-8):
○ Pickup from 3:35-3:45 pm● Aftercare is from 3:45-5:30 pm● YOU MUST HAVE YOUR CARD to pick up your child.
○ Please have it displayed on the front passenger side window of your car.

Dismissal Information● You MUST stay in the car at carline! You may NOT park or walk up for
pick up. If you forget your card or lose it, you need to go to the office and present your driver’s license in order to be able to pick up your child.
● Students will NOT be released to anyone not on the authorized pick up list without WRITTEN permission.
● Early dismissal - Please sign your child out in the office and your child will be called to the office. Early dismissal will not be granted after 2:30 pm.
● Always keep the office informed of any changes to pickup or contact information.

Dress Code on IVMS Campus● Students are required to adhere to the dress code EVERYDAY, including
masks, which should be school appropriate (no political messages or scary images).
● Shirts: For all students, an Island Village Montessori logoed shirt (short or long sleeves).
● Shorts, skirts, or pants: (appropriate for recess/ outdoor play)○ Skirts are allowed only with shorts underneath. ○ Shorts must be of modest length (where the longest finger hits the thigh). ○ Pants may NOT be torn and must fit properly (no low-hanging pants).
● Outerwear: Must be free of all commercial logos or characters. IVMS sweatshirts will be on sale early in the year.
● Shoes: Athletic shoes or other completely enclosed shoes with rubber soles that are suitable for outdoor play. NO sandals, crocs, light up shoes, skate shoes, or hard-heeled shoes. CLICK to continue
Dress Code on IVMS Campus● Hats: Hats with a brim may be worn for sun protection only. They may be
plain or with the school logo, but no other writing or symbols are allowed. No knitted beanies or other types.
● Backpacks, large purses or totes are not allowed to be carried by students during the school day. Please do not allow your child to bring toys or cards (Pokemon, etc).
● Please no distracting hair colors or styles.
● Note: Keep in mind that if your child arrives at school out of uniform or in any violation, you will be called to provide appropriate clothing or take your child home.
● All final decisions about what is ““appropriate” will be determined by the administration.
