Dear future Member,

We have endeavoured to make this application form as user friendly as possible.

Completing the membership application can be done by either printing, completing and submitting

pages 10, 11 and 12 or alternatively, come in and meet one of our staff members and we will gladly

assist you with your application.

The attached tables on pages 2 and 3, show the different Subscription and Green Fee rates

available for both annual paying and monthly paying options. Membership to Kloof Country Club is

an annual membership, which has a term of one year (1 December – 30 November). Memberships

can be paid annually upfront or they can be paid monthly. Temporary suspension of membership

during the year will not be permitted.

Please note that the annual subscription amounts and monthly membership cost excludes the

affiliation fee to SAGA and HNA which are as follows for 2020:

Men R 612.00 per annum.

Ladies R 707.00 per annum.

These are required to be paid to obtain a handicap from the union. Please refer to page 9 if you

would like your existing handicap transferred across from your previous club.

The fully completed application form needs to be submitted in person including

the following:

(a) Selected Membership Category (Page 2 and 3)

(b) Completed Application Form (Page 10)

(c) Completed Direct Debit Form (if applicable) (Page 12)

(d) Printed proof of payment, for up front (if applicable)

(e) Completed Handicap Transfer Form (if applicable) (Page 11)

Once the Management Committee approves the application, full membership benefits will

commence, a list of all new members will be posted on the Notice Board for one month during this

period the right of the Members to object to such a candidate shall apply; such objection to be

lodged in writing and addressed to the Chairman.

Important to note, upgrading and cancellations of memberships are required a month in advance via

email to Pam Glass - debtors@kloofcc.co.za.

A valid reason is required and is subject to committee approval.

General Information and Member Benefits

FACILITIES

All Members have the use of the following club facilities as part of their Membership.

- Clubhouse, Main Bar and Veranda restaurant.

- Swimming Pool and children’s play area,

- Main Clubhouse change rooms (you will receive an access code)

- Tennis Courts (see further details under tennis section for booking procedure)

DISCOUNTS

All Members receive a 7% discount on Food and Beverage. A further “top up” Food and

Beverage discount of 8% is offered to Members when pre-funding their Membership card, therefore

15% discount is available to Members who fulfil the above requirements. The only time

the discount does not apply is when the item is a “special offer”, for example the weekly meal deals,

specials and happy hours (Terms and Conditions apply).

MEMBERSHIP CARDS

All Members receive a Membership card and Members are required to carry their cards at all times while

on Club property and to make them available to staff members on request. Members are required to

swipe their membership card in order for the above mentioned discounts to apply. At Kloof Country Club,

a membership card is required in order to purchase any food and beverage items. This measure is

instituted to ensure discounts are given only to our Members.

CLUB DRAW

Kloof Country Club runs a monthly "Club Draw" which is drawn on the last Friday of each month in

the Main Clubhouse. The entry cost for the draw is R600 per annum. This is charged twice a year

(R300 each Dec and June).

1st and 2nd prizes are paid out together with an attendance prize, which may be carried over if not won

at that particular months’ draw.

FUNCTIONS

Wedding, Conference and Boardroom facilities are available in our two beautifully appointed

function rooms and 14 seat Boardroom. Members of the club can hire the function rooms at

no venue hire cost. This is only available to Members of the club. The services of our in-

house Function Co-ordinator is also available to our Members.

CLUBHOUSE MAIN BAR and FUNCTIONS BAR

The Main Bar is open to all Members over the age of 18, from 10am Tuesday to Sunday & 11am on

Monday’s. Children are permitted in the Main bar and Bar veranda when accompanied by an adult and

will legally not be served any alcoholic beverages. The Functions Bar is opened as required to allow for

easier service to the Functions venue on the ground floor.

DRESS REGULATIONS

Please ensure that your dress, and that of your guests is neat and presentable at all times. Extremes of

casual dress are unacceptable and deemed inappropriate at Kloof Country Club. Management reserves

the right to decide whether dress is appropriate. As far as the sporting sections are concerned, dress

codes vary, and it is incumbent on Members to acquaint themselves with the respective dress codes.

Golf Membership

At Kloof Country Club, we operate Morning (AM) & Afternoon (PM) fields, Monday to Sunday (7

days a week).

Golf bookings are to be made through the Pro Shop by calling 031 764 0555 or book in person at the

Pro Shop.

The booking of games will be enforced and golfers found on the course without their name on the

time sheet have no standing on the course.

RESTRICTIONS

The Saturday PM Field (Men's Saturday Competition) is restricted to Golf Members only.

Members may invite a guest in exceptional circumstances, but only with the permission of the

Men’s Golf Captain.

AFFILIATION FEES AND HNA

The fees tables exclude the Annual NGU and Handicap Card.

The club has to pay annual affiliation fees at the end of January, affiliations of members who have not

paid by the 25th of January, will be deactivated until payment has been received.

ANNUAL PLAYING CARDS - MEMBERS PAYING ANNUALLY

Annual Playing Cards ("APCs" also known as Up-Front Green Fees) offer a discounted rate to

Members wishing to purchase rounds in advance. Members can either purchase APC's offering a

specific number of rounds (12, 24, 36, 48 or 60 rounds) or APC's that entitles the holder to an

unlimited number of rounds (Platinum 7, 6 or 5).

Please note that more prepaid playing card options are available for Intermediate 1 and Junior

Members paying annually.

Please also note that Twilight Members are not entitled to an official KZNGU Handicap.

ANNUAL MEMBERS - PAYING MONTHLY

Members paying monthly are ANNUAL members and may resign only at year end.

Members paying monthly may not suspend membership during the year.

Members may choose to upgrade their membership however you cannot downgrade membership.

Members paying monthly must pay by debit order.

Members paying monthly will no longer forfeit accrued unused rounds prior to 30 Nov.

"Out of bundle" means rounds have been used up prior to the end of the period and the member

elects to play an additional round/s.

COUNTRY MEMBERSHIP

Country Members are persons whose usual residence is outside a radius of 100 kilometres of the

Club. Country members may not be handicapped at the Club without the prior approval of the General

Manager and are limited to 12 rounds per year.

JUNIOR AND INTERMEDIATE MEMBERSHIP

(Child of a Member) is accepted and should not have attained their twenty-fifth birthday before an

application for membership is submitted. (Child of a Non-Member) is accepted as long as they have a

Proposer and a Seconder who are full members of the Club and should not have attained their twenty-

fifth birthday before application for membership is submitted. A letter from a parent accepting

responsibility for payment of accounts is to accompany the application.

Please note that non-compliance of any of the above will delay the application being processed.

GUEST PLAYING WITH A MEMBER

Guests are entitled to the special guest playing with member rate only once per month i.e. the full

guest rate will be applicable to the second or further rounds in that month regardless of whether the

guest plays with different members.

RESIGNATION

Members intending to resign their membership of the club shall notify such intention in writing before

30th November annually, failing which they shall be liable for payment of the subscription for the full

ensuing year.

Upon resignation your membership will cease and your handicap with SAGA will deactivate.

ANNUAL PLAYING CARDS (APC) – MEMBERS PAYING ANNUALLY

Annual Playing Cards (APC) may only be purchased once membership (subscription) accounts have

been settled and that rounds will not be credited to any playing card until the playing card has been

paid.

Any rounds not used in the year will be forfeited.

Member may purchase an additional APC during the year.

Member must advise the club latest 30 Nov which APC option, if any, they wish to select for 2020,

failing which the club will automatically invoice based on their existing APC, if applicable.

Members not in a position to purchase and pay for an up-front card on 1 December will be required to

pay-as-you-play until such time as they purchase an up-front card.

GOLF CARTS

THE RULES GOVERNING THE APPLICATION FOR AND THE OPERATION OF ALL CARDS

ARE AS FOLLOWS

Nine holes will be regarded as half a round in debiting cardholders. All new members will be

required to apply on the attached application form for the card type of their choice.

Visitors and House Members pay visitors green fees should they be given permission to play on a

Saturday. The purchase of a card will not guarantee a member a round of golf at any time.

Time sheets, as displayed on the notice board, will be enforced.

A member playing in a sponsored day will still pay the green fees required by the sponsor.

Squash Membership

Kloof Country Club has three squash courts, one of which is a glass backed match court. All courts are

open from 8 a.m. to 10.00pm (with the exception of when league matches are played in season from 6

pm to 9.pm).

The courts not open to outside visitors unless invited and playing with a Squash member.

A key and a tag to operate the lights for the courts may be purchased from the Country Club office.

The cost of the are as follows: Key R45, Tag (lights) R60.

Promo Draw:

All adult members (excluding minors and University students) contribute R270 per annum. Four times a

year their names are entered into a draw.

Tennis Membership

Kloof Country Club has four tennis courts and the Tennis Section meets every Saturday from

approximately 13.30 pm. Please contact the Country Club office should you wish enquire about a

Tennis Membership.

All Members of Kloof Country Club have access to the tennis courts and can enquire at reception for

available times. A refundable key deposit of R60 is payable upon booking the tennis courts.

Athletics Membership

The Athletics Club forms part of the Country Club. Time trials are held weekly as well as various other

social activities. Please contact the Country Club office should you wish enquire about a Running

Membership.
