INTRODUCTION Cyprus counts 11.000 years of History and Civilisation, which are reflected through our Archaeological Sites and Monuments, but also through our Intangible Cultural Heritage elements. The customs, arts, traditions, knowledge and practices passed on, from generation to generation, are the basis of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the people and their identity. Showcasing and preserving these unique characteristics of our identity, as an authentic destination, is one of the main goals of the Handicrafts and Enogastronomy workshops organised by Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism. The Workshops Programme of Handicrafts and Enogastronomy which follows includes a wide spectrum of thematic workshops. Visitors from Cyprus and abroad, will have the opportunity to visit and participate in various Handicraft workshops such as: painting, embroidering, icon painting, mosaic making, ceramic and pottery making, basket weaving, silversmithing, wood carving etc., but also, in Enogastronomy workshops as well, such as: wine making, Commandaria making, palouze making, traditional charcuterie and more. Additionally, visitors will get the chance to participate in various interactive activities that will be organized within the framework set by the Workshops Programme. In particular, visitors can partake in activities such as: weaving, pottery making, wicker basket weaving, wine making, palouze making etc, thus giving the visitor the opportunity to be part of a truly authentic experience. The phone number of each workshop is listed, as these experiential activities will require booking in advance. Also, at the village/location where the workshops will take place, there are going to be free guided tours of said areas.

All Workshops are free of charge.

Workshops will take place on weekends from June to December 2021. The workshops will be open for visitors from 10.00 a.m. – 7.00 p.m. from June to November. No reservation is required for visiting.

We are waiting for you to come and experience this once in a lifetime journey, through traditional tastes, activities and customs, gaining the authentic Cyprus feel.

* It is noted that the organizers of the workshops will implement all measures indicated for the protection of public health, as defined in the Decree and in the instructions issued by the Ministry of Health.

* The Deputy Ministry of Tourism invites all interested parties to contact the organizers for any further information needed regarding the workshops.
