Welcome to our Top 50 League Tables reportDesigned to provide company intelligence for those working within construction and beyond, we report on the top 50 clients, architects and contractors for the month, as well as the last 12 months.

MethodologyThe tables are compiled using a mix of survey data from some of the UK’s largest contractors, as well as data from Barbour ABI’s database of contracts, awarded in that month or 12 month period. All tables include contracts worth £100k or more and tendered and negotiated contracts, but exclude frameworks, housebuilder projects and masterplans. The clients and architects tables are based on contract data, and ranked by projects worked upon on which a contractor has been appointed in that month or 12 month period. Contracts are only included once financial closure has been confirmed.

Our project data collation and qualification methods have been quality assured by the Office for National Statistics.

OverviewTop 50 summary

ContractorsBCEGI take the top spot this month with only one contract award totalling roughly £203 million.They have been awarded the new Royal Mint Court development in London where they will be helping to provide a new Chinese Embassy.

● Not far behind from the number one position is Winvic who have had six contract awards in June equalling just over £194 million.

● After a stellar June, Winvic are now the top contractors across the past 12 months, with 31 projects reaching just shy of £1.8 billion.

ArchitectsThe number one architects this month are RPS Group PLC, with three projects worth £493 million in total.As well as working on a £480 million energy plant, RPS are also handling the architectural works for a warehouse in Andover and an M&S Foodhall in Derby.

● David Chipperfield Architects are in second position in June with only one project totalling almost £203 million. They are also working on the new Chinese Embassy building in London.

● UMC Architects are still the leading architect across the last 12 months with 28 projects worth almost £1.2 billion.

ClientsTata Steel are the top clients for June with two projects worth a total of £482 million.Almost all of this comes from the £480 million sustainable energy plant project taking place in Northwich.

● Runners up for clients this month is the Chinese Embassy in London, with work expected to begin in September 2021 and run for just over three years.

● Highways England maintain the number one spot for clients over the last 12 months, with 30 projects totalling £2.8 billion.
