21 Mrs. Sandra Allen Head Teacher 25.01.1 0 DIARY DATES The children are now well into Term 3’s learning despite the snowy start!! All class letters have now gone out. If you have missed this letter please ask your class teacher or check on the school website class page. If you would like to learn more about how we teach addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in line with National guidelines please join us for our Numeracy workshops on Tuesday 2 nd February at 4.00 pm and repeated at 7.00pm. You should now have your letter inviting you to our Parent Consultation evenings on Tuesday 9th February and Wednesday 10th February. All books for class 3, 4 & 5 will be in the school hall and class 2 outside the classroom. As Mrs Edwards has only recently met with Reception parents, parent consultations for Class 1 will be on 22 nd & 23 rd March. The Parent Council met on Tuesday 19 th January at 2.00pm and discussion took place regarding extra curriculum clubs and the behaviour policy. It was suggested that to keep the chess club a rota of parents to help the children with their strategies under Mr. Lowe’s supervision was perhaps the answer. We had 1 volunteer, please see me if you can help. Their was unanimous support for a homework/library club and to help facilitate this service a nominal charge of £2 was suggested to start in September after refurbishing and restocking of books had taken place. The group looked at an insert to give more guidance on what was happening to children who persistently achieved yellow cards. The staff and governors will take into account parents views when reviewing the policy. Clubs – Drama, Netball, Recorder and book clubs will run as normal from this week. Choir club will not run until we have the relevant music we require to practice for the Colston Hall performance. ICT club has two more weeks to run. When this club has finished we will invite children to join this club again. Unfortunately at some clubs attendance is sporadic. Please can you ensure your child is committed to a club before joining. If your child misses two weeks without good reason then we will open their space to other children. KS1 If you need to collect your child during the day for a medical appointment please would you ensure that you sign them out and in again at the school office. Similarly if your child is late please sign them in at the school office. If you help in the classrooms please would you ensure you sign in and out. This is to ensure we know at any given time the number of children and adults on premises. For school security please do not wedge a stone by the main gate as this gets forgotten and reduces security for the children. MSN – If you allow your children to access this please could I pass on a warning from another school’s parent. A child was contacted by a person to chat. It was suggested the child turned on the webcam which they did only to view some disturbing images. If you want more information please contact me directly.

DIARY DATES

The children are now well into Term 3’s learning despite the snowy start!! All class letters have now gone out. If you have missed this letter please ask your class teacher or check on the school website class page.
