Story Of D Day 01
♦♦♦ How To Think, Not What To Think ♦♦♦
Moishe the Carpenter, returning home with his week’s wages,
was stopped by an armed robber on a deserted street.
“Take my money,” said Moishe,
“But do me a favour:
“Shoot a bullet through my hat otherwise my wife won’t believe I

was robbed.
”The robber obliged.
He threw Moishe’s hat into the air and put a bullet through it.
“Let’s make it look as if I ran into a gang of robbers,” said Moishe,
“otherwise my wife will call me a coward!
Please shoot a number of holes through my coat.
”So the robber shot a number of holes through the carpenter’s coat.
“And now…” continued Moishe.
“Sorry,” interrupted the robber. “No more holes. I’m out of
bullets.”
“That’s all I wanted to know!” said Moishe.
“Now hand me back my money and some more for the hat and
coat that you’ve ruined or I’ll beat you black and blue!”
The robber threw down the money and ran away.

::: An Arm-less Girl :::
Jessica Cox (born 1983 in Arizona) is the world’s first licensed
armless pilot, as well as the first arm less black-belt in the
American Taekwondo Association (she now has two black belts in
Taekwondo).
She was born without arms due to a rare birth defect.
She earned her pilot’s license on October 10, 2008, after three years
of training, and is qualified to fly a light-sport aircraft to altitudes
of 10,000 feet; she received her training through an Able Flight
scholarship.

Cox has not used prosthetic arms since she turned 14. .
Using her feet as most people use their hands, she is able, among
other things, to drive a car (she has an unrestricted license and
drives a car without modifications), to type on a keyboard (25
words per minute), to pump her own gas, and to put in and remove
her contact lenses.
She is also a certified SCUBA diver.
Cox holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of
Arizona and works as a motivational speaker.

::: The Chapatti ::: Wonderful story….with POWERFUL lesson
A woman baked chapatti (roti) for members of her family and an
extra one for a hungry passer-by. She kept the extra chapatti on the
window sill, for whosoever would take it away. Every day,
a hunchback came and took away the chapatti.
Instead of expressing gratitude, he muttered the following words as
he went his way: “The evil you do remains with you: The good you
do, comes back to you!” This went on, day after day. Every day, the
hunchback came, picked up the chapatti and uttered the words:
“The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back
to you!” The woman felt irritated.
“Not a word of gratitude,” she said to herself… “Every day this
hunchback utters this jingle! What
does he mean?” One day, exasperated, she decided to do away with
him. “I shall get rid of this hunchback,” she said. And what did she
do? She added poison to the chapatti she prepared for him! As she
was about to keep it on the window sill, her hands trembled.
“What is this I am doing?” she said.
Immediately, she threw the chapatti into the fire, prepared another
one and kept it on the window sill. As usual, the hunchback came,
picked up the chapatti and muttered the words: “The evil you do,
remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!” The
hunchback proceeded on his way, blissfully unaware of the war
raging in the mind of the woman. Every day, as the woman placed
the chapatti on the window sill, she offered a prayer for her son
who had gone to a distant place to seek his fortune.
21 SODD & PODD VOLUME : 01
18
For many months, she had no news of him.. She prayed for his safe
return. That evening, there was a knock on the door. As she
opened it, she was surprised to find her son standing in the
doorway. He had grown thin and lean. His garments were tattered
and torn. He was hungry, starved and weak. As he saw his mother,
he said, “Mom, it’s a miracle I’m here. While I was but a mile
away, I was so famished that I collapsed. I would have died, but
just then an old hunchback passed by.
I begged of him for a morsel of food, and he was kind enough to
give me a whole chapatti. As he gave it to me, he said, “This is
what I eat everyday: today, I shall give it to you, for your need is
greater than mine!” ” As the mother heard those words, her face
turned pale. She leaned against the door for support. She
remembered the poisoned chapatti that she had made that
morning. Had she not burnt it in the fire, it would have been eaten
by her own son, and he would have lost his life! It was then that
she realized the significance of the words: “The evil you do remains
with you: The good you do, comes back to you!”
::: Moral :::
Do Good and Don’t ever stop doing good, even if it is not
appreciated at that time.

The crowd has some interestingly waiting and some mocking

It was a Sports Stadium.
Eight Children were standing on the track to participate in a

* Ready! * Steady! * Bang(Dumeel) !!!
With the sound of Toy pistol,
All eight girls started running.
Hardly had they covered ten to fifteen steps,
when one of the smaller girls slipped and fell down,
Due to bruises and pain she started crying.
When the other seven girls heard the little girl cry they stopped
running, stood for a while and turned back.
Seeing the girl on the track they all ran to help.
One among them bent down, picked her up and kissed her gently
And enquired as to how she was..
They then lifted the fallen girl pacifying her.
Two of them held her firmly while all seven joined hands together
and walked together towards the winning post…….. ..
There was pin drop silence at the spectator’s stand.
Officials were shocked.
Slow claps multiplied to thousands as the spectators stood up in
appreciation.
Many eyes were filled with tears
And perhaps even God’s!

::: Daughters Are Special :::
On the first day of their marriage, wife and husband decided and
agreed not to open the door for anyone..!!!
On that day first, husband’s parents came to see them, they were
behind the door. Husband and the wife looked at each other,
husband wanted to open the door, but since they had an agreement
he did not open the door, so his parents left.
After a while the same day , wife’s parents came , wife and the
husband looked at each other and even though they had an
agreement , wife with tears on her eyes whispered , I can’t do this to
my parents , and she opened the door.
Husband did not say anything, years passed and they had 4 boys and
the fifth child was a girl. The father, planned a very big party for the
new born baby girl, and he invited everyone over.
Later that night his wife asked him what was the reason for such a
big celebration for this baby while we did not do it for the others!
The Husband simply replied, because she is the one who will open
the door for me..!!!

::: Meaningless GOAL :::
A farmer had a dog who used to sit by the roadside waiting for
vehicles to come around.

As soon as one came he would run down the road, barking and
trying to overtake it. One day a neighbour asked the farmer “Do you
think your dog is ever going to catch a car?”
The farmer replied, “That is not what bothers me. What bothers me
is what he would do if he ever caught one.”
Many people in life behave like that dog who is pursuing
meaningless goals.

Why Women Are Special
Husband & Wife were watching TV when Wife said, “I’m tired,
and it’s getting late. I think I’ll go to bed.”
She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day’s
lunches.
Rinsed out the bowls, took vegetable out of the freezer for
morning, checked the cereal box levels, filled the sugar container,
put spoons and
bowls on the table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next
morning.
She then ironed a shirt and secured a loose button.
She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back
on the charger and put the telephone book into the drawer.
She emptied a waste basket and hung up a towel to dry.
She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom.
She stopped by the desk and wrote a note to the teacher and pulled
a text book out from hiding under the chair.
She signed a birthday card for a friend, Addressed and stamped the
envelope and wrote a quick note for the grocery store.
21 SODD & PODD VOLUME : 01
35
She put both near her bag. Then she washed her face, put on her
moisturizer, brushed her teeth…..
Husband called out,
“I thought you were going to bed.”
“I’m on my way,” she said.
She put some water into the dog’s dish, then made sure the doors
were locked.
She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside
lamps and radios, and had a brief conversation with one kid who is
still up doing homework.
In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next
day.
Said her prayers, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals,
about that time,
Husband turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular.
“I’m going to bed.”
And he did… without another thought.
Anything Extraordinary Here?
Share this to phenomenal women today… they’ ll love you for it!
And Forward this to as many men as you can so that they know
why women are so special……!! !

::: Four Wives :::
Once upon a time. There was a rich merchant who had four (4)
wives.
He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes
and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her
nothing but the best.
He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He’s very proud of her and
always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the
merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with
some other men.
He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always
patient and in fact is the merchant’s confidante. Whenever the
merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife
and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult
times.
Now, the merchant’s 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made
great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well
as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not
love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly
took notice of her.
One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was
going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself,
“Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I’ll be alone. How
lonely I’ll be!” Thus, he asked the 4th wife, “I loved you most,
endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care
21 SODD & PODD VOLUME : 01
38
over you. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me
company?”
“No way!” replied the 4th wife and she walked away without
another word.
The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant’s heart.
The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, “I have loved you so
much for all my life. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and
keep me company?”
“No!” replied the 3rd wife. “Life is so good over here! I’m going to
remarry when you die!” The merchant’s heart sank and turned
cold.
He then asked the 2nd wife, “I always turned to you for help and
you’ve always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I
die, will you follow me and keep me company?” “I’m sorry, I can’t
help you out this time!” replied the 2nd wife. “At the very most, I
can only send you to your grave.” The answer came like a bolt of
thunder and the merchant was devastated.
Then a voice called out: “I’ll leave with you. I’ll follow you no
matter where you go.” The merchant looked up and there was his
first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from
malnutrition.
Greatly grieved, the merchant said, “I should have taken much
better care of you while I could have!”
Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives. The 4th wife is our body.
No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look
good, it’ll leave us when we die.
21 SODD & PODD VOLUME : 01
39
Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die,
they all go to others.
The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they
had been there for us when we’re alive, the furthest they can stay
by us is up to the grave.
The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of
material wealth and sensual pleasure.
::: MORAL :::
It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps
it’s a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to
wait until we’re on our deathbed to lament.
