Global Village and Friendship ConcertsGreater Cincinnati residents were treated to more than 60 free, public performances all across the region, from Delhi to Hamilton to Loveland to Covington, Kentucky.
Participating choirs performed for packed houses and enthusiastic crowds at museums, libraries, churches, retirement centers, bars and universities, not to mention places as Fountain Square, Washington Park, the Schmidlapp Event Lawn at the Smale Riverfront Park, Devou Park, Newport on the Levee, Findlay Market and the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
An estimated 65,000 people attended these informal and often intimate shows, including a powerful performance of the Israeli national anthem at the Mayerson Jewish Community Center by the Ankor Choir of the Jerusalem Academy of Music & Dance that moved some audience members to tears.
