I want SHOWCASE to pop out of the screen like its bursting with energy. The other fonts I chose are for their strong strokes that are of high visual interest.

Concepts Clearly state (write out) 3 different concept ideas.Playing Cards- “Gamble your imagination”I was thinking of having a card for every department (7). Having the tagline line, Gamble your Imagi-nation, because I think it brings curiosity into play along with complementing what the showcase is all about. Showing students work, where students took chances on there process and final products.

Puzzle Piece(s)- “Be a piece (part) of something bigger”Everyone wants to be apart of something bigger. This concept is derived on the idea that each of the 7 departments belong to something bigger (the overall puzzle) or SOMA. I was thinking of making puzzle pieces for each department that takes the shape of the letters SOMA.

Zipper- “Unzip your Imagination”For this concept, i pictured a zipper that fills out the page that unzips into some art pieces. Showing the art that you will see if you attend the SOMA showcase.

I chose this font because I felt it fit with the theme of my poster: a retro, 80’s, old MTV style work. I wanted to represent the future of technology, yet also acknowledge past. This font, to me, seems to portray the ‘retro’ feel I wish to express within this poster.
