Jo Ann and Lee both grew up in a small town on the banks of the Ohio River called Newport, Kentucky. They met one another while they were in the 6th grade and have been sweethearts ever since. Jo Ann attended Catholic school and Lee attended public school. In 1959, they married and had three daughters, Lee Ann, Penny, and Jerri. They also have been blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Lee worked at United Parcel Service where he was promoted and transferred to Oklahoma in 1971. Quickly after arriving to Oklahoma, Jo Ann began her career in banking. They soon began attending St. Andrew’s. Lee remembers two gentlemen, Elmer Mollman and Leo Gabrish, who showed them kindness and warmth which drew their family to become members of this parish. Jo Ann and Lee retired in 1995 and enjoyed following the Oklahoma Sooner basketball and football teams wherever they were playing. In 2002, they moved to Lake Whales, Florida to experience the golden years which lead them to meet new friends from all parts of the world. They gathered with their friends to play golf and met at homes for dinner, conversation, and a game of cards. In 2012, they moved back to Oklahoma to spend more time with family and reunite with their church family at St. Andrews.
They will have been married 60 years on September 19th and will be renewing their vows at the 5pm Mass on September 21st.
GOD STILL
HEALS TODAY!
Catholics have always been willing to pray for people in need of healing. We’re always happy to say a prayer for someone struggling with some form of suffering. But many church members seem unaware of the spiritual gift of healing that is given to some for the benefit of others. We have such individuals in our parish and they will make themselves available in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel following the 5pm Mass on the 21st of September to pray with and over individuals in need of physical, spiritual, emotional, or relational healing.

For many years children were baptized by parents who were ill-prepared to raise them in the faith of the church. This resulted in countless numbers of non-practicing Catholics. This program has been designed for parish parents who want their children to grow up as faithful followers of Christ in the Catholic Tradition. First time godparents may also attend but are not required to do so.

The Fiscal Year is off to a very poor start in terms of contributions. We are $30,000 down from this time a year ago. Is it possible that some members have lowered their support of the parish to pay off their pledges to the One Church, Many Disciples campaign?

Michael Ellis
Maintenance Man
I started out framing houses when I was 18 and then moved on to aircraft maintenance, Aero Space Propulsion. Part of my duties were to maintain both our shop and equipment. I built forward operating bases and repaired aircraft all over the world from the North pole to the South. I have crossed the equator multiple times. Spent time overseas protecting our countries interest from Dessert Shield/Storm to the Iraqi Freedom campaigns. Spent months setting camps along with providing flying aircraft. I retired six years ago to take care of our grandson, of which has become an avid fisherman. My wife Roberta and I have been coming to St. Andrew for a few years now and she has recently joined because of my love for the faith. I hope to serve you well in the coming years. I'm a K of C 4th degree, SVdP volunteer as well as a parishioner.
