Newberry Twp. Cemetery Clean-Up AnnouncedSpring cemetery clean-up will run from March 1-14. Please

remove all decorations that you wish to save by March 14 in all

cemeteries maintained by Newberry Township. Cemetery staff will

begin removing old arrangements Tuesday, March 15. New spring

arrangements in vases attached to monuments or spring saddles will

not be removed. Other new arrangements may be placed March 30.

Newberry Township cemeteries include:

Highland - High St., Covington; Greenville Creek - Buckneck

Rd., Bradford; freidens - Corner of Versailles and Bradford-

Bloomer Rds.; Union Church - Union Church Rd, Covington;

Arnold - St. Rt. 36, Covington; Priest - McMaken Rd., Covington;

Johnson - St. Rt. 41, Covington; and Lutheran Church - Miami-

Shelby County Line Rd., Covington.

Artificial arrangements must be in a vase, hanging device, or on

a monument saddle. Please permanently mark the deceaseds name

and a contact person on the bottom of a saddle so identification can

be made if it is blown off the monument. Any arrangement which is

a maintenance problem will be disposed.

NOTe: With mowing season soon approaching, cemetery rules

prohibit glass containers, wire, toys, and figurines that interfere with

mowing and/or trimming. Please be aware of updated rules and reg-

ulations.

A literary celebrity is coming to the

Milton-Union Public Library! Meet best-

selling author Shelley Shepard Gray at a

special luncheon at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday,

March 15.

Since 2000, Gray has sold more than 40

novels to numerous publishers, including

Harper Collins, Harlequin, and Abingdon

Press. Her work encompasses inspirational

and romantic fiction, with an emphasis on

the Amish. She is known for such series as

Amish Brides of Pinecraft, Texans Heart

of a Hero, Families of Honor, and

Secrets of Crittenden County.

Her awards include the Holt Medallion,

RT Magazines Reviewers Choice, and she is an American Christian

Fiction Writers Carol finalist.

Reading Mentor

Program Offered

at Bradford LibraryA Hook the Book Reading

Mentor Program for children in

Kindergarten through Grade 2

will begin Tuesday, March 8, 6

p.m., at the Bradford library. It

will last one hour.

In order to have the required

materials ready, the mentors

need to know who will be

attending, so please contact the

library at 448-2612 and give

your childs name and grade

level.

The program will be set up

in the style of learning centers

with a mentor at each station

working with the child. There

will be no more than three chil-

dren in any group. The library

will be working with the

Bradford School District and

complementing their program

to ensure successful reading

habits during the early primary

years.

The Hook the Book

Reading Mentor Program will

take place each month on the

2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 6-7

p.m. Healthy snacks will be

available. Children can be

signed up by a parent or signifi-

cant other at any time. Contact

tions at the library.

Imagination Library

Available at BPLBradford Public Library is

pleased to continue Dolly

Partons Imagination Library

for area preschoolers. The

library is part of the Miami

County Libraries and the Darke

County United Way program.

This reading program, where

each child receives a FREE

book on a monthly basis, is

also free for parents and grand-

parents to sign up one of their

children or grandchildren. A

child will receive up to 60

books from the time they are

born until they turn five years

old. The library has applica-

tions for both Darke and Miami

County preschoolers or you

can go online and register. Its

easy and you will be amazed

how this reading program can

help create a reader in your

Breakfast Benefit for the

Imagination Library, being
