Generally the audience would expect the following for a psychological drama opening sequence.

They would expect there to be lots of confusion in order for there to be a high amount of enigma.

They would also expect the opening sequence to be implicit so that the audience can engage and be interested.

There to be very odd things going on in the surroundings.

The characters to be in an isolated place.

There to be an establishment of the character.

There to be a hint and leave the audience question what is truly happening in the opening sequence and having them guessing what is going to happen next.

We are mostly inspired by blockbuster movies such as: Se7evn, The one that flew over a cookoo’s nest, Beautiful

mind, Momento and the Sixth sense. Our opening sequence would be a blockbuster film because

psychological drama films would be of an interest to a wider audience so that they get an inner insight of the psychological problems that some people go through on an everyday basis. Which also could relate to some of the people in the audience.

It would be global because a psychological problem is a global everyday issue and it also links with it being a blockbuster type of opening sequence because it is a real life issue which many people go through.

Exhibition: because the film would be a blockbuster film it would therefore be exhibited in the followings ways:

Cinema’s DVD’s Social networks (online)

Page 6: 23 target audience

It is target at a mass audience because its a blockbuster movie and also because of the fact that the opening sequence relates to a world wide situation and a condition that could happen with any age.

A psychological problem involves any age it doesn’t have a specific age.

Altman‘A set of pleasures’

Tudor ‘genre is what we collectively believe it to be’

The opening sequence is giving the audience pleasure by creating a mystery and a lot of enigma so the audience feel the satisfaction of wanting to find out what is happening and why it is happening.

We only understand that it is a psychological drama because of the way she behaves and she see’s things that are not there. The audience understand its a psychological drama because of this. They also understand that it is a drama because of the way it is affecting her personal life.
