PUBLIC HEARING ON THE HOUSING AND NON-HOUSING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEEDS OF
LOW INCOME PERSONS
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 20058:15 P.M.
CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERSPALO ALTO CITY HALL
250 HAMILTON AVENUE
The City of Palo Alto Planning Division has begun the preparation of a new 2005-2010 Consoli-dated Plan in conjunction with funding received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Submission of a Consolidated Plan is a requirement for receipt of funds from any of the HUD formula programs such as Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG), and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA). The Consolidated Plan will describe the City’s affordable hous-ing, public service and non-housing community development needs, as well as the strategy and plan to meet the identified needs.
The public hearing on February 15, 2005 will be an opportunity for citizens, local nonprofit agen-cies, community groups, low-income persons, persons with special needs and others to provide input to City staff about housing, public service and other non-housing community development needs in Palo Alto. Information about the priority needs of low income persons, families with chil-dren, minorities, homeless persons, the elderly, the mentally ill, persons with physical or develop-mental disabilities, persons with AIDS, and children affected by lead poisoning that are not well documented in readily available sources, are especially sought by City staff.
The public hearing will be preceded by a regular meeting of the CDBG Citizens Advisory Commit-tee beginning at 7:00 p.m. If you have questions or would like further information before the hear-ing, please contact Eloiza Murillo-Garcia at (650) 329-2428. Written comments are also welcome and may be submitted by e-mail: [email protected], or mailed to the follow-ing address:
