The SFFECO EDJ 250/7 Excel Series is a package type fire pump consisting of an electric motor-driven duty pump, diesel engine-driven standby pump, jockey pump, combined controller , mounted in a common base plate. Nominal performance rating is 250 GPM @ 7 BAR. The package is complete with discharge valves, and accessories.

To avoid cavitation, make sure that there is aminimum pressure on the suction side of thepump. The maximum suction lift "H" inmeters head can be calculated as follows

H = Pb X 10.2 - NPSH - Hf - Hv - Hs

Pb = Barometric pressure in bar.(Barometric pressure can be set to 1 bar.) In closed systems, Pb indicatesthe system pressure in bar.

NPSH = Net Positive Suction Head in meters head.(To be read from the NPSH curve at the highest flow the pump will be delivering.)

Hf = Friction loss in suction pipe in metershead.(At the highest flow the pump will be delivering).

Hv = Vapor pressure in meters head.(To be read from the vapor pressurescale. “Hv” depends on the liquid temperature "Tm")

Hs = Safety margin = minimum 0.5 metershead.(To be read from the vapor pressurescale.“Hv” depends on the liquid temperature “Tm”)

If the "H" calculated is positive, the pump canoperate at a suction lift of maximum "H"meters head.

If the "H" calculated is negative, an inletpressure of minimum "H" meters head isrequired.

c. Motor

The motor is totally enclosed, fan-cooled, 2-pole with principal dimensions in accordancewith the EN standards
