In an effort to reduce the possibility of injury to personnelworking around HYTROL conveying equipment, warningsigns are placed at various points on the equipment to alertthem of potential dangers. Please check equipment andnote all warning signs. Make certain your personnel arealerted to and obey these warnings. Shown below aretypical signs that are attached to this equipment.

INTRODUCTIONThis manual provides guidelines and procedures forinstalling, operating, and maintaining your conveyor. Acomplete parts list is provided with recommended spareparts highlighted in gray. Important safety information isalso provided throughout the manual. For safety topersonnel and for proper operation of your conveyor, it isrecommended that you read and follow the instructionsprovided in this manual.

Check the number of items received against the bill oflading.Examine condition of equipment to determine if anydamage occurred during shipment.Move all crates to area of installation.Remove crating and check for optional equipment thatmay be fastened to the conveyor. Make sure theseparts (or any foreign pieces) are removed.

NOTE: If damage has occurred or freight is missing, seethe Important Notice attached to the crate.

INSTALLATION

GUARDS AND GUARDINGInterfacing of Equipment. When two or more pieces ofequipment are interfaced, special attention shall be given to theinterfaced area to insure the presence of adequate guarding andsafety devices.Guarding Exceptions. Wherever conditions prevail that wouldrequire guarding under these standards, but such guarding wouldrender the conveyor unusable, prominent warning means shallbe provided in the area or on the equipment in lieu of guarding.Guarded by Location or Position. Where necessary for theprotection of employees from hazards, all exposed movingmachinery parts that present a hazard to employees at their workstation shall be mechanically or electrically guarded, or guardedby location or position.When a conveyor passes over a walkway, roadway, or workstation, it is considered guarded solely by location or position if allmoving parts are at least 8 ft. (2.44 m) above the floor or walkingsurface or are otherwise located so that the employee cannot

GUARDAS Y PROTECCIONES Unin del Equipo. Cuando dos o ms piezas del equipo vanunidas, debe ponerse especial atencin al rea de unin paraasegurar que las guardas adecuadas y los dispositivos deseguridad estn presentes.Excepciones de Proteccin. Dondequiera que las guardassean necesarias, pero que la colocacin de las mismas inhabiliteel uso del transportador, se proporcionarn seales deadvertencia visibles en el rea o en el equipo en vez de lasguardas.Proteccin dada por Posicin o Ubicacin.
