MASS INTENTIONS

MASS INTENTIONS

From the Diary of

St. Faustina Kowalska

O Christ, if my soul had known, all at once, what it

was going to have to suffer during it’s lifetime, it

would have died of terror at the very sight; it would not

have touched its lips to the cup of bitterness. But as it

has been given to drink a drop at a time, it has emptied

the cup to the to the very bottom. O Christ, if You

Yourself did not support the soul, how much could it do

of itself? We are strong, but with Your strength; We are

holy, but with Your holiness. And of ourselves, what are

we? - Less than nothing…

My Response: My Jesus, You suffice me for

everything else in the world. Although the sufferings

are severe, You sustain Me. Although the times of

loneliness are terrible, You make them sweet for me.

Although the weakness is great, You change it into

power for me. (Diary 1655)

DIVINE MERCY IN MY SOUL

DIVINE MERCY IN MY SOUL

Our parish has received $14,376.01 reflecting the

July 31, 2019 disbursement of Upon This Rock

funds. This brings our disbursement total to date to

$98,298.95. We once again would like to express

the enormous gratitude we have for everyone who,

through incredible generosity, made, and continue

to make, this drive successful!

Our parish is in need of

men and women who are

willing to help at Funeral

Masses as an altar server.

This is a kindness we can

extend to families and

friends who are grieving the

loss of a loved one.

Training is provided, and the call to serve would be

sporadic; please give this request your prayerful

consideration. Should you decide to give it a try, please

contact the coordinator of this important ministry, Ken

Rozek, at 834-2169 or by email at [email protected].

THE GROWTH OF A PARISH (OURS!)

In July 1935, Father Kenneth Muller, a newly ordained priest, was assigned to assist Father

Fitzgerald. Father William Snyder replaced Father Mullen in July 1, 1939 and proved to be

of great help to our Pastor in the four years of his assignment. When Father Snyder was

transferred, the Bishop was unable to send Father Fitzgerald another assistant, resulting in an

increased work load that fell on his shoulders. While other priests were periodically assigned

during the late 40’s, Father Fitzgerald was often without an assistant. To add to his burden,

the financial struggles and preoccupation with the war was increasing in the minds of the nation and of the parish.
