AIM TO ACHIEVE
What a fantastic start to Term 4. It
has been very settled and
students have already dived head
first into learning for this term.
It has been a pleasure stepping
into the role as Principal and I will
return to my role as Deputy
Principal upon Mr Tate’s return on
Thursday.
Massive congratulations must go
to Year 5 for a wonderful Mini Fete
last Friday. All the stalls were
amazing and so organised. The
sponge throwing at the teachers
stall was quite popular, as was the
book stall and slushie stands!
Thanks to Mrs Lynch, Mr Harding,
Mrs Lewis and Ms Aldridge for
your ongoing support for this
event.
Air Conditioning update. This has
been a very long process with lots
of changes along the way. Last
week, we had over 30 contractors
assess both sites and the tender
process will close on Nov 1. It is
an t i c ipa ted that the a i r
conditioning upgrade will be
completed during the Christmas
holidays. We thank all our families
for their understanding in this
matter.
Some of our students are being
dropped off at school at 8.15am.
This is too early. We strongly
encourage our families to use
Peak-Before and After School
Program. Some students are being
dropped off across the street and

and dangerous. Please make
sure that this does not continue
to happen.
A friendly reminder to all

the library. I encourage everyone
to support our fantastic P&C
I wish our Infants and Primary
Choir the best of luck as they
perform this Saturday at The
Shoalhaven River Festival. You
are amazing and will do our
school community proud.
Have fun and safe travels to our
Yr 5 students and teachers as
they head to Sydney next week. I
look forward to hearing about
your visit to our nation’s capital.
Please continue to look at our
facebook page, website and
skoolbag app for information.
Especially as Term 4 is one of
our busiest times of the year.
In closing I would like to thank
Mr Hosler for his support this
term in the role of relieving
Deputy Principal and Ms
Aldridge as relieving St 3
Assistant Principal. It has been
an absolute pleasure working
with you both.

P & C News
I would like to welcome students, staff and parents
to Term 4 at Nowra Public School. I hope everyone
had a great break and that we are all ready for a
busy final term ahead.
Over the school holidays the P and C held
OBSTACOOL on the infants site. It was quite well
attended by people from within and outside the
school. I would like to thank everyone that helped
support the event, and in particular to Rebbecca
Jamieson and her family for all of the hours and
hard work that you have put in to getting this event
happening at our school. Some significant funds
were raised from this event, and as always our
school community has been a great support.
The P and C are holding their AGM on Wednesday
October 31, in the library at 7pm. All parents and
carers in the Nowra Public School Community are
welcome and encouraged to attend. Our P and C
plays a significant role within our school, not just
with fund-raising. It is a great opportunity to be a
part of the education process, and to participate in
discussion centred around events in our school. You
don't need to be able to come to every meeting, just
when you can. We value support and input from all
members of our school community and really hope
to see as many members present at our AGM.
I would like to take this opportunity to give a huge
'Thanks and Congratulations' to Mrs Lynch for her
amazing effort with the Year 5 Mini Fete. Some
parents may not be aware, but the Mini Fete
generates funds to pay for the Year 6 Graduation
Dinner. This year, a concerted effort was made by
Mrs Lynch to make the Fete lolly free, with an
additional focus on reduced sugar. This is in support
of the P and C Canteen's efforts to be compliant with
NSW Healthy School Canteens strategy. We are
currently 12 months ahead of the projected timeline
for compliance. Mrs Lynch, along with Mr Tate's
support of this strategy with the mini fete is very
welcome and very much appreciated by the P and C
and the wider school community. It is not always
easy to set the example, but having the support of
our executive staff and teachers is greatly
appreciated.
Finally, as this is the last newsletter before the P & C
AGM, I would like to thank everyone for their support
this year, and look forward to another productive
year of P and C activities.
