~Mayor’s Message ~

Greetings Residents of Brentwood, I wish to thank you as always for your kind support and continued love for the Town. Ithas been one (1) year since I have been in office and I have not been able to accomplish all that I had hoped. Some of it is lack ofpersonnel and some the unfortunate events preceding my becoming Mayor.Never the less I am trying with the help of our very competent Town Administrator to accomplish many of the things I had envisioned for

the town. For example: a more proactive Police Department, the establishment of an Economic Development Advisory Committee. I amhoping that with the help of Councilmembers that we can establish some Community Events which would involve all of our residents.We are in the process of passing a Budget which I submitted to the Council and while we are striving not to raise taxes we are still

trying to support our areas of safety and public services by not trimming these areas too much. Please attend our Budget Hearings andlet your concerns be heard.Once again I thank you and hope we all will enjoy a wonderful summer. As always please take the necessary precautions to ensure

your safety and by all means call the police to report any suspicious persons and or activities.

~ Saludos a los residentes de Brentwood ~

Los residentes de Brentwood saludos, quiero darle las gracias como siempre por su amable apoyo y el amor constante a la Ciudad. Hasido una (1) año desde que estoy en la oficina y no he sido capaz de lograr todo lo que yo esperaba. Parte de esto es la falta depersonal y algunos eventos desafortunados de los anteriores a mi alcalde llegar a ser.

Nunca lo menos estoy tratando con la ayuda de nuestro administrador de la ciudad muy competente para llevar a cabo muchas de lascosas que había imaginado para la ciudad. Por ejemplo: un departamento de policía más dinámica, el establecimiento de un ComitéConsultivo de Desarrollo Económico. Espero que con la ayuda de los concejales que podamos establecer algunos eventos comunitariosque impliquen a todos nuestros residentes.

Estamos en el proceso de aprobación de un presupuesto que presenté al Consejo y al mismo tiempo nos esforzamos por no aumentarlos impuestos que todavía estamos tratando de apoyar a nuestras áreas de seguridad y los servicios públicos por no recortar estasáreas demasiado. Por favor asista a nuestras audiencias sobre el presupuesto y dejar que sus preocupaciones sean escuchadas.

Una vez más le doy las gracias y espero que todos vamos a disfrutar de un verano maravilloso. Como siempre tome las precaucionesnecesarias para garantizar su seguridad y por todos los medios llamar a la policía para denunciar a cualquier persona sospechosa ytodo tipo de actividades.

Remember that it is each homeowners or tenants responsibility to makesure the grass is cut. Please make sure that when you cut your grass, andor weeds on your property that you cut to the curb/street and do not placeloose grass clippings on sidewalk, gutter and or street.

87-1 Grass, weeds and other vegetation:It shall be the duty of the owner, occupant or any agent in charge of anyland in the Town of Brentwood to remove from such land any weedsthereon of twelve (12) inches or more in height within seven (7) days,Sundays and legal holidays excepted, after notice from the Mayor andTown Council of the Town of Brentwood to do so. Upon failure to complywith such notice, it shall be the duty of the said Mayor and Town Council tocause the removal, and the costs of such removal be a lien upon and shallbe assessed by said Mayor and Town Council as a tax against theproperty on which the above mentioned conditions and situations arelocated.

While the owners ofthe house were out a ladder was propped up against the side of thehouse the window was broken and entry was made.
