A Collection of works and inquiry from our youngest learners. 1-14 Elective Retrospective 1 Celebrating the work of students studying Visual Arts electives in Semester 1, including Picture Book (Year 7), Animation Fixation (Year 8) and Architecture and Interior Design, Media, Photography and Art in Year 9. 15 Years 9 and 10 (Semester 1) Selected Works 13 Year 11 VCD/Art/Studio Arts – Online Show 7 Years 7 and 8 Visual Arts Show (Semester 2) 25 Years 9 and 10 (Semester 2) Selected Works 29 House Art 6-17 Frontiers Art Graduate show of our Year 6 class of 2021 exhibiting their creative inquiries. 15 Films on the Hill WH Film Festival, showcasing the best films from WH students in 2021. 3-16 My Country An exhibition featuring the work of Year 7 students, exploring the semester’s theme of Country: The representation of land and nature in art. 26 Years 7 and 8 Visual Arts Show (Semester 1) 3-16 The Urban Canvas An exhibition of work inspired by street and public art, created by Year 8 students. 17 Music Scholars’ Showcase We very much look forward to this featured concert of solo works by our very talented instrumental scholars this year. This concert is without doubt one of the highlights of our musical year. 28 Piano Concert Following a very successful event in 2019, and our online recordings in 2020, this concert will again feature talented Junior and Secondary pianists from across our metropolitan campuses, providing a wonderful afternoon of pianoforte listening. 19-22 Mamma Mia Years 7-12 Musical. ABBA’s hits tell the hilarious story of a young woman’s search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. 18 Wheelers Hill Campus Concert Our secondary students present a varied program showcasing the wide range of campus instrumental and vocal groups that rehearse throughout the year. 27 Caulfield Campus Autumn Concert A diverse program showcasing the wide range of campus instrumental and vocal groups that rehearse throughout the year. 18 Caulfield Campus Vocal Concert A new addition to our Caulfield Campus music calendar, this concert will showcase vocal ensembles across all year levels, and will provide an enjoyable evening of vocal styles and genres. 24 Wheelers Hill Vocal Concert Now in its third year, this Wheelers Hill vocal concert has become a much-loved event in our music calendar, featuring both Junior and Secondary students. An evening of fun and glorious vocal entertainment to be enjoyed by all! 29 Wheelers Hill Jazz Night Enjoy an evening together with great jazz entertainment! Our Stage Bands and Vocal ensembles will present a wonderful program of Jazz music. A great family and friends event. 30 Caulfield Campus Jazz Night Enjoy an evening together with great jazz entertainment! A great family and friends event. 3 Malvern Campus Concert Our young Malvern Campus musicians come together to present their audience with a program reflective of their day-to-day learning and involvement in the many ensembles that rehearse each week. 15 Wheelers Hill Junior Concert Involving students from the Junior School at Wheelers Hill Campus, this delightful concert features the many ensembles that rehearse throughout the year and showcases the breadth and depth of the day-to-day music learning in this busy Music Department. 17 Battle of the Bands Held at both Secondary Campuses, Battle of the Bands features a night of student-led bands, duos and solo acts. Exposing much undiscovered student talent, the evening promotes, develops and supports a diverse range of talent in all genres of contemporary music writing and performance. 15 A Little Night Music This year our Wheelers Hill Memorial Hall will transform to bring you an evening of performances from our senior musicians in a solo and ensemble setting. This concert features talented senior musicians from both our secondary campuses – a special highlight in our Music calendar. 9 Caulfield in Concert Around 500 students, both primary and secondary, from all three metropolitan campuses proudly come together at Hamer Hall to present a superb program guaranteed to delight the audience. The evening showcases the very fine music program that Caulfield Grammar School has to offer. 8 Concert Band End of Year Concert A celebration of fine music featuring our senior concert bands. Now a tradition, this evening also serves to farewell our Year 12 band members who have made a significant contribution to the band program. 19 School Percussion Concert This concert features a variety of solo performances from our youngest to our most advanced percussion students. Percussion ensembles from all campuses will be featured in this concert. 6 Christmas Carol Service A Wheelers Hill Campus musical event for the whole family to kick-start your Christmas celebrations. 7 Christmas Carol Service A Caulfield Campus musical event for the whole family to get everyone into the Christmas mood. 8 Christmas Carol Service Parents and families of our Malvern Campus students are invited to join us for our annual Christmas Carols service. 24-27 Wicked Wicked is the untold story of the Witches of OZ. Long before Dorothy dropped in, two other girls meet in the land of OZ. Wicked tells an enthralling story of two unlikely friends and how they become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. 20 & 21 Year 11 Production The Year 11 Production provides students with the opportunity to explore production roles such as Costume, Set, Lighting, Sound and Prop design. 13 & 14 Senior Play The Senior Play gives students in Years 10-12 the opportunity to get involved in a co-curricular production. This play will be announced at the Production Season Launch in Term 1. 12 & 13 Ghost in my Suitcase This intercultural and bilingual production follows Celeste as she travels to China to visit her Grandmother, discovering a family secret along the way. 19-21 The Lion King Jr The African Savannah comes to life with Simba, Mufasa and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again. Malvern Campus students will perform this play at the Cripps Centre, Caulfield Campus. 31/8 & 1/9 VCE Monologue & Solo Night This night showcases the Year 12 Theatre Studies Monologues and Dance Solos. This performance is a vital part of the students’ process in preparing for their Performance Exam. 2-4 Upstage: “Icons” Years 7-12 students have the opportunity to enrol in weekly dance classes to present a theme-based dance production extravaganza! 6 VCE Unit 4 Theatre/Dance showcase Year 12 students will showcase their presentations for the Monologue examinations and practical dance exams for friends and family. 30 & 31 JUMP Dance JUMP Dance is the name for the Wheelers Hill Dance Production and involves students from Years 7-12. The theme and narrative of the 2021 Production will be announced at the Production Season Launch in Term 1. 20 VCE Unit 2 Theatre/ Dance practical assessment Year 11 students will showcase their presentations for the Monologue examinations and practical dance exams for friends and family. 3 & 4 Year 10 Australian Theatre It is Year 10 Drama students’ turn in The Black Theatre this month to take up acting, directing and production roles to bring the page to the stage. They invite you to share in their theatrical experiment and to bear witness to them working collaboratively and imaginatively in their exploration of script. 18-20 Aladdin JR Years 7-9 Musical. The story you know and love has been given the royal treatment! Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of the princess, Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character. With expanded characters, new songs, and more thrills, this new adaptation of the beloved story will open up “a whole new world” for your young performers! 21-23 Middle School Production This is an opportunity for the Middle School (Years 7-9) to be the feature of a Production. An exciting and rewarding experience filled with fun activities, workshops, rehearsals and spectacular performances. 27 & 28 Year 10 Production An opportunity for the Year 10 Semester 2 Theatre Studies Class to explore putting on a production.. 11 & 12 Year 5 Production Our Year 5 students present a theatre piece created from their units of inquiry. 29 & 30 Children of the Black Skirt Years 10-12 Play. A gothic fairy-tale for young people. Three lost children discover an abandoned orphanage in the bush and learn a history of Australia through the spirits of children who have lived there, from convict times, through to World War Two, the Stolen Generation and beyond. 27 & 28 Year 6 Production Our Year 6 students present an epic piece of theatre created from their units of inquiry. 6 & 7 danceRAW Choreographic Showcase. Theme: Transmission. Students will explore digital communication and avenues of transmission within contemporary society through the artform of dance. 25 & 26 The Importance of Being Earnest Year 12 Production. This hilarious Comedy of Manners explores mistaken identity, the lengths you’ll go to for love and triviality. The play allows students to work across 2 Production Roles and the 3 stages of the Theatrical Production Process. 30 & 31 Metamorphoses Year 12 Production. Metamorphosis is based on thousand-year-old stories presented in vignettes (short scenes). Both presentational and representational in style, the show features many of the characters who are familiar to audiences from common myths and legends including King Midas, Eurydice, Zeus, Orpheus, and Aphrodite.
