It’s time again for 500 companies, found-ers, CEOs, investors and deal makers to meet up under one roof at the Auto-Klassikstadt in Frankfurt to exchange ideas, to network and make deals. As your hosts, ACXIT Capital Partners in cooperation with VCDE Venture

Partners invited Frankfurt based TechQuartier to the equation and extended the program from one day to three days. This gave us room for the additional “Tech Battle”, something that startups and investors alike are really excited about.

In a post-Brexit world, Frankfurt seems to profit from an ever accelerated inflow of international financial institutions and service providers, many of them coming from Asia doing business in the EU. This is a fantastic development for our financial center and it gives us a lot of optimism and self-confidence to expand our role as a financier and market for entrepreneurial growth in Germany and Europe as a whole. The decisive element of success in the fu-ture, however, will even more importantly be the velocity and scale of innovation within the financial technologies. How well are we prepared? Will banks, after all, lose their position and importance within a decade or even sooner? Will they be replaced or outper-formed by a breed of new “FinTechs”?

Will the blockchain technology change the world of financial markets? Are cryptocurrencies and ICOs presenting new opportu-nities? Will regulators agree and catch up with the high-speed de-velopments in this area? What about cybersecurity in this context? And how will the established 800-pound gorillas in the banking scene react? Will they neglect or participate? The markets obvious-ly are at a point where they need orientation and guidance simi-lar to this year’s GrowthCon participants and that is why we chose these topics and invited a whole set of experts and speakers to give us the necessary insights.

The teams of ACXIT, VCDE and TechQuartier would like to wish you lots of success and hopefully many new insights from our GrowthCon 2018! Please feel free to visit us anytime at our offices in Frankfurt but also in Berlin, Munich, Leipzig, Zürich or Hong Kong with your ideas or queries, we are always prepared to talk about M&A and growth financings. We love to assist you in your path of Growth.

Yours, Andreas Thümmler ACXIT Technology

As the acting CEO of CFP Group, Andreas expanded into the fund management sector in early 2008 and established VCDE Venture Partners, a leading growth equity investment fund with a clear focus on technology companies in the fields of software, in-ternet, mobile telecommunications and IT business services.

In 2011, Andreas turned his hobby of collecting rare single malt whiskies into a business and started building St. Kilian Distillers, one of the largest German whisky productions to date.

In 2015, CFP merged with Acxit Capital Management to form ACXIT Capital Partners.

For many years, Andreas has been a key supporter, fundrais-er and member of the curatorium of the Hamburg based Steps for Children foundation.

Andreas holds a degree in Computer Science and Business Ad-ministration from European Business School – Schloss Reichart-shausen and has worked as an M&A specialist with Rothschild in Frankfurt and Warburg in London prior to establishing CFP.

Launched in 2005, High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) is a powerful engine that drives the success of high-tech startups. Armed with expertise, entrepreneurial spir-it and passion, the experienced team of investment managers and startup experts guide top companies on their journey from launch to success. HTGF focus-es on high-potential startups active in the sectors of software, media, internet, hardware, energy and au-tomation, life sciences (medical technology, diagnos-tics, biotechnology) and chemicals.

Over 490 High-Tech companies have been launched successfully since 2005. Next to the 886 Mio. € orig-inating from our own funds (HTGF I, HTGF II and HT-GFIII), so far, more than 1.6 billion Euro of additional capital have been raised into our portfolio in about 1,200 follow-on rounds of financing. Moreover, we successfully exited 91 of our portfolio companies in that same timeframe.

www.high-tech-gruenderfonds.de

TRACK 2 ― FINTECH WILDCARD

The Fintech Wildcard has a disruptive value proposition and an innovative business mod-el. Coming from both Germany and abroad, the startups selected for this track leverage

cutting edge technology to address modern-day problematics faced by the financial services industry.

TRACK 3 ― SPORTSTECH

Technology is shaping our daily life and the digital transformation is disrupting whole in-dustries – even professional sports.

We were looking for an early-stage start-up working on a fresh solution to analyze and measure the perfor-mance of athletes, driving digital innovations in the medical and rehabilitation sector or perhaps rethinking the fan and stadium experiences.

WHAT ARE THE PITCH BATTLES ALL ABOUT?

The hottest FinTech and SportsTech startups will present them-selves on stage at TechQuartier.

We have selected startups to pitch in front of the GrowthCon audience and to a selected group of expert judges from the indus-try and investment space.

The participants get the chance to present their startup to a high-level audience, connect directly with high-profile investors, corporates and entrepreneurs at the Speakers’ Dinner, and win an investment readiness session with the experts of ACXIT and Tech-Quartier who will challenge their business strategy.

TRACK 1 ― FINTECH EARLY STAGE

We were looking for FinTech startups which were founded less than 2.5 years ago with less than EUR 1 million of funding.

In the definition we use, a FinTech startup is a company which leverages new technology to create new and better financial services for both consumers and businesses. It in-cludes companies of all kinds that may operate in personal financial management, insurance, payment, asset management, blockchain, security or wealth management.
