1. Introduction

2J News Slider (component + module + plugin) - it's a fresh breath for your website layout. Animation on the front end it's very eye-catching way for visitors to see some important info about your featured news, products, articles! 2J News Slider it’s most easy way to build animated ajax front end for your joomla website. You can locate few 2JNewsSliders at one front end page at the same time, for every instance of the front end 2JNewsSlider you can set personal settings , effects, styles and etc. You can show different content articles in 2JNewsSlider module in diff. site sections. Using plugin you can locate instance of the 2JNewsSlider in any content article on the front end of the site or you can use even direct link to the component. 2J News Slider showing not only text , but it’s showing images and text (formatted by HTML and CSS) 2J News Slider it’s most effective way to make presentation of your products, services, news, hotlines. 2. Distribution Package

2J News Slider extension distributing as package of the joomla component , joomla front end module and joomla plugin. You will be able to download installers from the customer backend member place.

- 2JNewsSlider component (Installer name: com.2j_news_slider.zip) – component with joomla admin section, where you can manage your 2JNewsSlider instances options and CSS styles

- 2JNewsSlider module (Installer name: mod.2j_news_slider.zip) – module

which one you need to use it as front end interface of the 2JNewsSlider. Possible to make few copies of this module with different settings and style.

- 2JNewsSlider plugin (Installer name: bot.2j_news_slider.zip) – plugin allow

you to insert 2JNewsSlider into content articles

3. Installation Pre-Installation Notes

Please check version of your current joomla installation. You need some version of Joomla 1.0.X – stable release (without hacks). You can check your current joomla version at {joomla admin section}/System/System Info on the first tab of this section: “System Info” you will see “Joomla! Version “ option.

Please check that your joomla settings allow you to make installation of the new extensions. It’s should have writable permissions to required directories. You can find list of this directories at {joomla admin section}/System/System Info on tab “Permissions” All list of the options should have green label “Writeable”

Installation Notes Installation of the 2JNewsSlider extension consist of few simple steps:

- Install component (which you receive in your distribution package. Installer name: com.2j_news_slider.zip)

- Install module (which you receive in your distribution package. Installer name:

mod.2j_news_slider.zip)

- Install plugin (which you receive in your distribution package. Installer name: bot.2j_news_slider.zip)

- Configuration of the installed extensions

- Setup front end modules to show slider of the articles or publish some

instances of the 2JNewsSlider in articles using plugin. After installation of the component and module in the case if you didn’t see message about successful installations please post your ticket to 2JoomlaNET support service at http://www.2joomla.net/support/ In your ticket please specify details about errors you see

and, if it’s possible, login and password for your joomla installation (where you trying to install our product).

4. Configuration Here’s few brief tips for basic configuration of the component, module and plugin after installation process:

- Go to the joomla plugin section and publish “2J News Slider Plugin” - Configuration of the “2J News Slider Module” : go to the {joomla

admin}/modules/2J News Slider module options:

In module settings you need to select category option (it’s regular joomla content category ) from which one 2JNewsSlider load articles into front end module. Option name: “Category”.

- in the case if you wish insert 2J News Slider to the some content articles , you can use “2J News Slider Plugin” go to the {joomla admin}/plugins/2J News Slider and make sure that it’s published. After that go to the {joomla admin}/ components / 2J News Slider Click button “New ” on top component menu you will see this form :

Here you need just add name of the new news slider unit, and select category from which one component should read content articles to show in 2J News Slider. After this you can save new slider instance and you will see new item in 2J News Slider component listing:

5. 2J News Slider component configuration

2J News Slider component have admin interface which make you able to manage settings of the news slider instances integrated into content articles with 2JNewsSlider plugin. Interface of the admin section implemented in joomla native style, and you will not have any problems with it. Main listing of the 2JNewsSliders plugin instances settings you can find at {joomla admin section} / components / 2JNewsSlider:

Here you can see next fields: Name – name of the slider; Category – category name assigned to current instance of the slider; Tag in content – it’s auto-generated tag, which you can use in content article to insert current instance of slider into article text; At the top component tool bar , you can find “Edit CSS ” button – it’s 2JNewsSlider CSS editor, which make you able to manage all styles of the slider from the admin backend. All front end interface really flexible. And using CSS styles not so hard to customize it per your needs. At 2J News Slider options you can find option : “Style” where you can select one from three of the default implemented skins for the slider: “Dark skin”, “Light skin” and “Base joomla style”; In the case of “Base joomla style” slider will use current joomla template styles , too looks more native for your current design settings. When you click on the each item you will see edit form, where you will be able to change some settings for current slider instance. (this form will have the same options as “New” form).

Here’s listed description of the fields of this form : Name – name of the current slider instance; Category – option for joomla category selection (from which one slider reading articles); Show images – turn on/off images inside articles; Linked titles – turn on/off links at the titles of the articles; Item title – turn on/off titles of the articles; Read more – turn on/off joomla article option to show “read more” link; Maximum articles amount – amount of the articles which slider will show in current instance of the 2J News Slider; Width – width of the div where slider will be located; Height – height of the div where slider will be located; Moving Duration – period of time during one slide will change by antoher (1000 = 1 second ); Enable Fade Effect – options which turn on/off fade effect during slides change process; Enable Timer – this options turn on/off auto slides changer, in the case if it’s tuned off visitor will be able to change slides manually, slides stay still if visitor not change it; Time for timer – it’s period of time which every frame stay still (1000 = 1 sec, so if timer turned on, and value of this field for example 3000 , it’s mean that every new frame will show up after every 3 seconds); Cells amount – this option needed to make component able to build “matrix” from the articles, with target cells amount. This option needed for slides changing effects, when you set value for this field for example 3 and you have 9 articles in current category , then when slider change first 3 articles it’s slide down to the next “row”, so will see it as visualization effect;

Horizontal made – this options change the way of scrolling. 2J News Slider scrolling in vertical surface. In the case if this option turned on, then slider scrolling in horizontal surface; Navigation panel position – using this option you can change location of the navigation panel. It’s can be located on top of the slider, on bottom of the slider or it’s can be turned off at all; Style – here you can select one of the default implemented skins for 2JNewsSlider. If you wish make some other styles you can use css editor (at 2JNewsSlider component admin section). Detailed description of the styles which use slide you can find at this document “2J News Slider CSS styles guide” section; Enable pause mode – this option turn on/off pause mode. When visitor point by mouse cursor to 2J News Slider module it’s stop animation process , and stay on hold , till cursor stay over module. It’s very useful feature in the case when visitor wish to read current slide more carefully; Enable Border – option turn on/off border around slider, you don’t need to play with any styles just use this option; Border Color – this option make you able to set color of the border around the slider; Pause label – when you turn on pause mode, and when cursor stay over the slider it’s showing this label at the corner of the slider , which indicate that slider on hold. 6. 2J News Slider module configuration

2J News Slider have 3 variants of the front end interface : Joomla 2JNewsSlider module or insert slider into one of the front end articles (using 2JNewsSlider plugin). Using 2JNewsSlider module you can make as much as you wish instances of the front end 2JNewsSlider. You can make copies of the module at joomla admin backend (the same way as you can do with another joomla modules), and you can customize personal settings for every instance of the 2JNewsSlider module. Every module can show articles from different category, with personal effects, location, settings. When you go to the 2JNewsSlider module settings at ({joomla admin section} / modules / 2JNewsSlider module ) you will see this form:

Here you can use all joomla basic options to set correct basic settings for joomla 2JNewsSlider module (like position, title, module order, access level, show title and etc) Every module will have set of the 2JNewsSlider options, which make you able to customize current instance of the 2JNewsSlider. 7. 2J News Slider CSS styles guide 2JNewsSlider have set of the integrated styles , which you can use to customize your front end interface. You can manage your styles at {joomla root} / components / 2J News Slider , you will see button “Edit CSS” (on top component buttons panel).

Here’s the list of the main styles, which you can use to customize your 2JNewsSlider: #empause{ } - customization of the pause label; .em_news_slide_ul{ } – customization of the general box , in this box included all content except pages navigation panel; .em_news_slide_menu{ } – customization of the navigation panel of the front end interface; .em_news_slide_menu a{ } – customization of the link to the page; .em_news_slide_class1 .em_news_slide_menu a.wactive{ } – customization of the active link;

8. Real Cases / Usage Suggestions

2J News Slider , have really great range of the configuration settings which make you able to use it in very wide range of case. Using this extension you can build very interesting animated AJAX front end interface , you can publish on the front end 2, 3 or even more 2JNewsSlider modules and at the same time you can put few of them in another article, using plugin. What is most interesting that you can set personal settings and view for every instance of the 2J News Slider, using CSS styles (which you can edit in 2J News Slider component admin section). You have set of the animation effects, which you can use in your sliders. So with this tool everything depend only from your imagination! How to use it in your site ? Case 1: You have real estate site and software which you using have pure showcase , use 2J News Slider as showcase to represent most interesting property items for your potential customers; Case 2: You have services section on your site, and not too much visitors can find description of the things you do, use 2JNews Slider in one of the front end modules to show some set of the short headlines with images about your services and everybody can see it ; Case 3: You need good presentation for your products, you can do it easily with 2J News Slider, just make few great articles with interesting headlines and pretty images about your products and post them at front page with 2J News Slider . 9. Troubleshooting

In this section of the document we have collect all most popular customers questions, so please check it , maybe you will find reply for some of your question here: Would like to upgrade from single to multi sites license. Yes, you can do it, use link for update license at your profile section for update your single site license to multi site. After payment your account will be updated and you will see updated info at "License information" tab at your profile. I was wondering if all of your joomla components/modules/plugins are Joomla Native 1.5? Yep, our components/modules/plugins implemented in Joomla 1.5 Native style. We're do not adapting old application, we have implement it using new joomla 1.5 classes/structures/style I get "JHTML form not supported. File not found. " at the top of each admin page. You've got this error , because you using not stable version of Joomla 1.5 (did you install some Release Candidate, right ?) Please reinstall Joomla 1.5 Stable Release , and try to install again.

How I can change "[ Pause ]" label for pause mode? It’s depend of the location where you using current instance of 2JNewsSlider. If you using front end module please go to the admin section module options , there you will find option ”Pause label” and you can specify label you need there. In the case of the plugin usage you can find this option at {joomls admin} / components / 2JNewsSlider , then go to the edit mode of the current instance of the slider m you will see ”Pause label” option there. I would like to have 2JNewsSlider in the main content article. If you need to insert 2JNewsSlider into your content article, use this tag : {2j_news_slider 1} - where 1 it’s ID of the slider instance, created in 2JNewsSlider component admin section. How to download my cop of the 2JNewsSlider after purchase ? Please check My Products section (you can find link to this section on top menu). In the case if you have Single site license you will see field where you can specify host name of the website where you planning to use 2JNewsSlider. After that click "Check" button, after this step you will be able to confirm your selection by submit button or you can re-enter domain value before submit, if you click "Undo" button. After confirmation of the submitted domain you will see download links. In the case if you have Multi sites license you will see download link right after login.
