The mission of the Colonial Heights Lions Club is to help the blind and visually impaired in our community. We col-lect unwanted/used eyeglasses placed in donation boxes found throughout Colonial Heights. Our primary goal is to provide eye exams and eyeglasses to residents of Colonial Heights and Southern Chesterfield who cannot afford them. Additionally, we contribute to the blind and visually impaired whom are in need of special equipment, such as adaptive computers and software, video magnifiers and auditory software. Colonial Heights Lions Club often works in conjunction with other area Lions Clubs to provide assistance for sight related causes and the blind. One hundred percent of the funds provided to our club through fund raising and donations go to assist persons in need. In the last year, our Club has assisted approximately 82 individuals, many of which are school aged children. Due to the overwhelming success of the first bowling fund-raiser held February 18, 2017, Colonial Heights Lions Club is proud to announce our 2nd Annual Forty Frame Bowling Event at the The Bowling Alley in Colonial Heights, VA on May 5, 2018. There will be sixteen four-person teams com-peting for trophies and prizes. Additionally, there will be a 50/50 drawing and Silent Auction prizes to bid on. We are contacting local businesses and individuals for their support. All monetary donations and items to be used for our raffle or door prizes for the bowlers are greatly appreciated. You may sponsor a team consisting of four bowlers for $100.00 or if you wish to sponsor a bowling lane, you can do so as well for $50.00. Your charitable donation is tax deductible and will be acknowledged at the tournament. If you choose to assist the Colonial Heights Lions Club in any way, please complete the enclosed form and return it to a Lions member or send to P.O. Box 151, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event will be used to provide eye exams and/or glasses for individ-uals in our community that cannot afford them. The Colonial Heights Lions Club is most appreciative of any help that you can provide to “Help the Lions, Help the Blind.”

Wanna be part of our community organization?You are invited to attend our meetings held at 6:30 PM at Dante’s Italian Restaurant, 2900 Cedar Lane, Colo-nial Heights, VA. on the second and fourth Thursdays monthly. (No fourth Thursday meeting in July, August, November or December).

Informative, educational speakers are provided at the meetings.
