FUNCTION: Designed for bracing pipe against sway and seismic disturbances.

Intended to function as a 4-way sway brace assembly component

for use on risers and other vertical piping configurations, each

brace pipe must be used in conjunction with a PHD

Manufacturing pipe attachment. Fig. 054 can also function as a

longitudinal brace connection when attached to a lateral brace

assembly using PHD Manufacturing sway brace fittings where

building codes permit. The brace attachment component of a

sway brace system used in conjunction with PHD Manufacturing

structural attachment fittings and joining together two bracing

pipe elements forming a complete sway brace assembly. Sway

brace assemblies are intended to be installed in accordance with

NFPA 13 and the manufacturer’s installation instructions.

SIZE: Pipe size 1" thru 4" Schedule 10 thru 40 IP. Pipe size used for

bracing 1" and 1-1/4" Schedule 40 IP.

FINISH: Electro-galvanized

MATERIAL: Low Carbon Steel

INSTALL: Insert bracing pipe into fitting against the pivot bolt and tighten

each fitting set screw finger tight. Then tighten each set screw

evenly until hex head breaks off. Fitting can pivot for adjustment

to proper brace angle, then tighten pivot bolt. Bracing connection

must be positioned as close as possible to the braced pipe and

cannot be more than 3" away.
