Welcome to the Clarence Thomas Center for
Historic Preservation, ambassadors!
26 March 2010
Structure The Clarence Thomas Center for
Historic Preservation (The Thomas Center) is a 7,000 square-foot building originally built in 1908 as an orphanage and convent for the Missionary Sisters of the San Franciscan order.
In fall of 2009, following an extensive restoration and rehabilitation, the handsome four-story brick building became the home to the historic preservation program.
The state-of the–art facility provides classrooms, offices, computer labs, a conservation lab and workshop in a restored property that is a contributing building to the National Historic Landmark District.
