Camp Invention is Returning to Woodlands!
A new set of activities to explore inventing and to spark your child’s imagination
awaits! Campers will take home two robots this year. This year campers will be in multi-
age groups with their peers. This will allow the instructors to gear the depth of their
explorations to the different levels attending camp. This will also allow students to
experience camps with more of their friends. The camp will run from June 18th –
22nd. Camp Invention is for students that will be entering first grade through sixth grade
next fall. Register NOW at campinvention.org.
There is a $15 savings for those who register before May 5th.

Woodlands’ French Students Get a “Clue” at Ronald Reagan
On March 12th, the Woodlands 7/8 French students were able to connect in person with the French 2 students at Ronald Reagan High School. French teachers from both schools, Madame Hinkley and Madame Knight, coordinated students’ assignments so that they were able play a Clue-type game using Avatars they each created online. Woodlands’ students created a Superhero Avatar and Reagan students created either a victim or a criminal Avatar. After showing the Superhero Avatars and before the big reveal, students had to ask questions to discover the description of the Avatar who was the victim or the criminal, the country and place the crime was committed, the weapon used, and the exact location of the crime. This activity gave students an opportunity to use their language skills in real time and to see the relevance of the language they have been studying. They were even able to connect with a former Woodlands’ student! It was a very engaging and exciting day for everyone involved!
