3rd Grade Home Learning March/April, 2020 All assignments are completely optional for students. No grades will be taken at this time. Please let your children know that we love them and miss them terribly! Happy Learning!!! ELA and Social Studies Students should be reading at home. They may finish their book club books and Because of Winn Dixie if they have these at home. There are many NewsELA articles posted in Google Classrooms that students can read. Each article comes with a quiz to assess comprehension. Students may also feel free to complete their LEAP practice packets. Their ELA packet is in their red folders and their social studies packet is in the yellow folder. Google Classroom will be updated every Monday. Please consider having students journal at this time. This is an emotional time for everyone, and it may be helpful to have an outlet for their feelings. Before the school closure, we were learning about the economy. Watching videos and discussing the terms goods, services, supply, demand, wants, and needs will ensure that they retain this information. Math and Science In math, before the break we had just begun module 6 - learning about generating and organizing data. In science, we had just wrapped up module 3 and were headed into module 4. While it is unfortunate that we were unable to introduce the new science module in person, we are very fortunate that the publisher of our math and science curriculums, Great Minds (Eureka Math and PhD Science), will be posting videos daily. Math : the videos begin with lessons in module 5. Science : the first videos review the first three modules as a whole and then daily lessons for module 4 are to come.
