AGES: 6 weeks to 5 years oldThe Eglin Child Development Program
provides full day space-available hourly, Florida Voluntary Pre-K and monthly
Saturday child care with two locations: 2781 and 2782 Boatner Road. Full time childcare is
offered for children 6 weeks to 5 years,with hourly drop-in care available 7-1700.
Meals are provided at no additional cost. The centers are DOD Certified and accredited by the National Association for the Education of

SCHOOL AGE CAREAGES: K - 12 years old
School Age Care are facility-based programs that typically provide care to children enrolled inkindergarten through age 12 from Monday
through Friday during established hours(e.g., 6 - 8 AM and 2 - 6 PM).
SAC programs typically provide care before and after school and during school holidays
and summer vacations.
The School-Age Care Program is a COAaccredited program that provides activities
to children that complement rather thanduplicate their school day.
The programs main goals are: Personal development - supporting positive
self-concept. Independence and life skills, encouraging responsibility.
Social development - establishing friendships, Learning social skills, gaining social support,
Developing a sense of community andteamwork.
Physical development - Recreational skills, and appreciating the ability to rest and relax.
Cognitive development - advancing success in school, exploring new ideas and facts.

YOUTH PROGRAMSAGES: 5 - 18 years old
The vision of Youth Programs is to provide a"POSITIVE PLACE FOR KIDS" and to encourage cooperation between fellow youth members;
to challenge young people to be responsible for their actions, resourceful with the environment and
respectful of the ideas and customs of others.
The Youth Center is located near the West Gate and within walking distance of Eglin Elementary.
The hours of operation are from 2 pm to 7 pm Mon-Thu 2 pm - 6 pm on Fridays during the school
year and noon - 7 pm Mon-Thu/noon - 6 pm during the summer. Use of the center is open to members ages 9-18. The center provides instructional classes, sports programs, social functions and after school activities. Anyone under 9 must be accompanied
by an adult or enrolled in an Instructional orSports Program.
The sports program includes baseball, basketball, soccer, and cheerleading. Instructional classes are offered in Tae Kwon Do and dance. In addition to
these events, the summer months' organized "dropin" sports activities include volleyball, archery,
tennis and basketball games.
Our Summertime Program includes opportunities for youth to participate in sports clinics, cooking, drama, fine arts and sewing camps and STEM
activities. Field trips are also offered throughout the summer. The Youth Center staff is by an additional
100 volunteers that lend a helpinghand throughout the year.

FAMILY CHILD CAREAGES: 2 weeks to 14 years old
offers a high-quality alternative to center-based care. Care is provided in a safe, healthy, nurturing
environment that promotes children's development.
The Eglin FCC Program maintains a monthly referral listing of on base licensed child care providers and state licensed providers off base who are affiliated
with Eglin.
Eglin providers offer care for a number of children and their families on a daily basis, setting their own hours and fees while providing care for children 2 weeks to 14 years of age, including full time, part
time, hourly drop ins, weekend, evening and overnight care, special needs, PCS, volunteer,
expanded duty, returning home and subsidized (reduced fee) care.
FCC providers have the opportunity to stay at home with their own children, contribute to the family income, and operate their own business. FCC
providers are secure in the knowledge that they are offering a valuable service to AF communities.
Parents will find a balance of active play and quiet activities, as well as outdoor play. Activities and
experiences that support learning such as drawing, painting, listening to music, story telling, table/floor
games, cooking and large motor play are conducted daily in their homes. Providers are trained using the
same curriculum as the staff at the Eglin Child Development Centers.
