Doors Unlocking & Locking

You can lock and unlock the doors and tailgate by pressing the lockor unlock button on the Intelligent Key. For emergency purposes, amechanical key is integrated in the Intelligent Key. To release themechanicalkey, shift the knob and pull out the key.

Intelligent Key System

The Intelligent Key System is a keyless entry system that allows you to lockand unlock the doors and tailgate without using the keywhen the IntelligentKey is within the system’s operating range . To open a door, touch theinside of the door handle and pull the handle to open the door. To lock thedoors, touch the sensor on the door handle.

Anti-theft Alarm SystemAn audible and visible alarm is triggered when a door, the tailgate or bonnet isopenedwhen the system is armed.

The systemwill automatically be armedafter the vehicle is locked. Indicator lamp

will flash, indicating thet the alarmsystem is armed. The alarm system isoperational after approx. 15 seconds. Thealarm is disarmedwhen the vehicle isunlocked.

Optionally, your vehiclemay be equippedwith tow-away protection whichadditionally triggers the alarmwhen the system is armed and the vehicle’sinclination angle changes. Also, an interior motion sensormay be fittedto your vehicle that triggers the alarmwhenmotion is detected within thepassenger compartment.

The tow-away protection and interiormotion sensors can be switched offusing the switches above the interiorrear-viewmirror. To exclude the towaway or interior motion sensors fromthe alarm system:

1. Switch off the engine.2. Press switch (deactivation of interior motion sensor) or

(deactivation of tow-away sensor).The indicator light will flash/illuminate to confirm deactivation of therespective function(s).

3. Lock the vehicle.

HEAD RESTRAINT ADJUSTMENTPush knob and raise/lower the headrestraint until it reaches the desired position.After adjustment, make sure the lock knob isengaged in one of the notches.

Automatic Drive Positioner SystemYou can store up to three different seat andoutsidemirror positions using the automaticdrive positioner system.

To store a setting:

1. Adjust the seat2. Adjust the outsidemirrors3. Briefly press thememory button , then press and hold preset

position 1, 2 or 3 within three seconds. A tone soundswhen thesetting is stored in thememory.

To call up a stored setting, press the desired preset button.

Steering Wheel AdjustmentPush down the lock lever and adjust the steeringwheel as desired.

After adjustment, make sure to firmly push the locklever back into position to lock the steering wheel inplace.

Automatic Front Passenger Front Air BagDeactivationThe automatic front passenger front air bag deactivation system analyses theweight of the person seated on the front passenger seat.Depending on the analysis, the front-passenger front air bag is either enabledor disabled.If a rearward-facing child restraint systemis fitted to the front passenger seat, the<PASSENGER AIR BAGOFF> indicator light

must illuminate after the systemself-test and remains illuminated.The front passenger front air bag thenis deactivated. The system does notdeactivate front passenger side and curtain air bags.

Electric Parking BrakeTo apply the parking brake, push the electricparking brake handle , regardless of theignition switch position.To release the parking brake, pull theelectric parking brake handle while theignition is ON.Onmodels with automatic transmission, theelectric parking brake will be automaticallyreleasedwhen you depress the acceleratorpedal to drive away.

Headlight Switch

The headlight switch has following positions:

Left hand parking lights switched on.

Right hand parking lights switched on.

Side lights, license plate lights and combinationmeter lightingswitched on.

Automaticheadlightmode:headlightsswitchon/off automatically,dependingonambient light conditions/daytime lightsystemswitchedon.

Dipped beam/high beamheadlights.Selection between dipped beam and high beam is done by using thecombination switch (refer to page 11).

Combination SwitchThe combination switch is located above the cruise control switch andprovidesmultiple functions as described below.

Push the combinationswitch away from youwhile the headlight switchis in the <AUTO> orposition to select highbeam.

Pull the switch towards you to flash the high beamheadlights.

Push the switch up or down to activate the right/left turn signal light.

High Beam Assist (where fitted)The High BeamAssist system automatically switchesfrom high beam to low beamwhen the headlightswitch is in the <AUTO> position while high beamis selected and an oncoming or leading vehicle isdetected.When the vehicle is no longer detected, lowbeamwill be switched back to high beam. The highbeam assist indicator light in the instrument panel illuminateswhen thesystem is active.

The high beam assist systemwill not function at speeds below approximately40 km/h.

WINDSHIELDWIPERS ANDWASHER

Press to operate windshield washer &wipers.

Turn switch to select:Automatic wipe, low rainsensor sensitivity.

Automatic wipe, high rainsensor sensitivity.

Continuouswipe, slow.

Continuouswipe, fast.

REARWINDOWWIPER ANDWASHER

Turn switch to select:

Wipeswith washerfluid, then returnsto intermittentwiping.

Ignition Switch PositionsThe ignition switch has followingpositions:

OFF position. After opening thedoor, the steering wheel willbe locked. No power supply toconsumers.

ACC position - power supply toseveral consumers like windowwipers.

ON position - power supply to all consumers. For dieselmodels: glowplugs start pre-heating the engine at low engine temperatures.

START position: operates the starter motor to start the engine.

Instrument Brightness ControlA light sensor in the instrument cluster automatically controls the brightnessof the instrument panel illumination. In daylight, the instrument panel is notilluminated.

The brightness of the instrument panelillumination can be adjusted using theinstrument brightness control knob .

Clock SettingsClock settings can be changed asfollows:

1. Push <Menu> button onINFINITI controller

2. Touch [SETTINGS]3. Select item to adjust:

- On-screen clockon/off- Summer time- Clock format [12h/24h]- Time zone- Clockoffset adjustment

Power Windows and Outside MirrorsMAINSWITCHOPERATIONAll power windows and the outsidemirrors can be operated through themainswitch on the driver’s door.

Power windowsOPEN/CLOSE.

Disable rear passenger windowoperation by rear passengers.

Select left hand (L) / right hand(R) outsidemirror.

Adjust outsidemirror.

Fold/unfold outsidemirror.

POWERWINDOWCONvENIENCEOPENINg/CLOSINg FEATURE

The vehicle can be locked/unlocked and the power windows be closed/opened simultaneously from outside the vehicle using the Intelligent Key asfollows:

To lock the vehicle and close thepower windows simultaneously,touch the sensor surface onthe door handle until the sidewindows are fully closed.

To unlock the vehicle and open thewindows simultaneously, press and hold the button on the Intelligent Keyuntil the side windows have reached the desired position.

Sunshade OperationThe sunshade operates only when the ignition is switched ON.

To open or close the sunshade, press and holdthe OPEN or CLOSE side of the switch andrelease it when the sunshade has reached thedesired position.

To fully open or close the sunshade automatically, briefly press the OPENor CLOSE side of the switch and release it. To stop themovement of thesunshade during automatic opening/closing, press either side of the switch.

Automatic Anti-dazzle Rearview MirrorThe interior rear-viewmirror(and the exterior mirror on thedriver’s side) automaticallyswitch to anti-dazzlemode ifthe ignition is switched on andlight from a tracing vehiclestrikes the sensor in therear-viewmirror.

The anti-dazzlemode is not activated if reverse gear is engaged or if theinterior lighting is switched on.

Steering Wheel Controls (left hand side)

LEFT/RIGHT arrowbuttons: call up andnavigate throughmenu bar on vehicleinformation display.

UP/DOWN arrowbuttons: navigatewithinmenus onvehicle informationdisplay.

<OK> button: to confirma selection.

BACKbutton: to return to the previous screen.

Steering Wheel Controls (right hand side)

Voice commandbutton: press to startvoice recognitionsystem. To cancelvoice recognitionsession, say "Exit" orpush and hold buttonfor 5 seconds.

Volume up (+)/down(-) button: press toadjust volume ofaudio/telephone.

Mute button: press tomute sound.

Telephone 'reject' button: press to end a phone call or reject anincoming call.

Telephone 'answer' button: press to select telephonemenu/start aphone call.

vehicle Information Display

The vehicle information display is located centrally between the tachometerand speedometer and displays following information:

Outside temperature or speed.

Time.

Text/data field.

Menu bar.

Selected drive programme.

Transmission position (automatic transmissionmodels).

Engine Stop/Start system status indicator.

To call up themenu bar , press the left or right arrow button on thesteering wheel. Themenu bar will disappear after a few seconds of inactivity.

The Text/data field displays the selectedmenu, submenus, displaymessages,system settings and trip computer data.

Depending on vehicle specifications, followingmenus can be selected:

• [Trip] - Trip computer data• [Navi] - Navigation instructions• [Audio] - Audio settings• [Tel] - Telephone service status• [Assist] - Driver Assistance settings• [Serv] - Service settings

Use the and buttons on the steering wheel to navigate within themenus,use the <OK> button to confirm a selection and/or save a setting.

Use the BACKbutton to return to a previous screen or exit amenu.

Centre Multifunction Control Panel

The centremultifunction control panel in the centre console can be operatedthrough touching/swiping the screen or by using the INFINITI controller.

Followingmenus can be selected:

• Navigation (where fitted)• Phone• Apps• Information• Settings

USINg THE INFINITI CONTROLLER

Models with navigation system:Push <MAP/VOICE> to displaythe vehicle’s current location,push again to display the DisplayView Bar and display views. Pushand hold to repeat the last routeguidance instruction.

Models without navigation system:Push to display the hands-freephone screen.

Push the button to display themainmenu.

Push the knob to select theshortcutmenu or enter a selection. Push the arrow buttons to scrollthroughmenu items. Turn the knob to zoom in/out on amap.

Push the BACK button to go back to the previous screen.

Push to display the audio screen.When is pushedwhen theaudio screen is already displayed, the source list will be displayed.

Models with around viewmonitor:Push to display the around viewmonitor screen. The cameraview can only be displayed when the ignition is switched ON.Models without around viewmonitor: push to adjust displaybrightness, push and hold to turn the display on/off.

Automatic Transmission OperationThe automatic transmission is designed so thatthe footbrakeMUST be depressed before shiftingfrom P (Park) to any drive position while theignition is ON.

Use the Parkpositionwhen the vehicle is parked.Alwaysmake sure that the vehicle is completelystopped before pressing the Park (P) button .

If you switch the ignition off with the transmissionin D (Drive) or R (Reverse), the transmissionautomatically shifts into N (Neutral).

DRIvE PROgRAMSELECTIONThe program selector button allows you to choose between three driveprogrammeswith different driving characteristics:

E Economy: for comfortable and economic driving.

S Sport: for sporty driving style.

M Manual: for manual gear shifting.

When pressing the program selector button, the selected drive program(E, S or M) is displayed in the vehicle information display .

For manual gear shifting in themanual drive programM, usethe shift paddles behind the steering wheel to change gears.

Left hand paddle: shift down.

Right hand paddle: shift up.

When using the shift paddleswhile the Economy (E) or Sport(S) drive program is selected, the transmission will shift into theManual driveprogram for a limited time andwill return to the previously selected drive

program (E or S) as soon as the driving situation permits.Use the program selector button to permanently select themanual driveprogram.

Engine Stop/Start SystemThe engine Stop/Start system automatically stops and restarts the enginewhen the vehicle is stationary. This system contributes to improving fueleconomy and exhaust emissions.

If the system is turned on, the indicator light in the Stop/Start systemON/OFF switch (see next page) illuminates. Also, the Stop/Start system indicatoris displayed in the lower part of the vehicle information display. If the Stop/Start system indicator in the vehicle information display lights up in yellow, thisindicates that the system is temporarily not available, due to certain conditionsnot beingmet at thatmoment.When all conditions for the Stop/Start system'sfunctioning aremet and the system is thusoperational, the Stop/Start systemindicator in the vehicle information display illuminates in green.

The Stop/Start systemwill stop the engine under following conditions:

• Onmanual transmissionmodels, bring the vehicle to a completestop, remain at idle in Neutral gear and release the clutch pedal.

• On automatic transmissionmodels, bring the vehicle to a completestop.

The Stop/Start systemwill restart the engine under following conditions:

• Onmanual transmissionmodels, the engine will restart when youdepress the clutch pedal to shift into a (forward or reverse) gear anddepress the accelerator pedal.

• On automatic transmissionmodels, the engine will restart when youtake your foot off the brake pedal and depress the accelerator pedal.

Note: The Stop/Start systemwill not function under certain conditions, for examplewhen the engine has not yet reached its normal operating temperature. This is normalbehaviour and does not indicate a system fault.

SWITCHINgOFF THESTOP/STARTSySTEMThe Stop/Start system can be switched off for theduration of a journey by pressing the Stop/Startsystem switch; the indicator light in the switchwill turn off and the Stop/Start system indicator inthe vehicle information displaywill turn off. Nexttime you switch the ignition to ON, the systemwillautomatically be reactivated.

Tomanually reactivate the stop/start system, press the Stop/Start switchagain; the indicator light in the switch will illuminate and the Stop/Startsystem indicator will be displayed in the vehicle information display.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring SystemThe Tyre PressureMonitoring System (TPMS)continuouslymonitors the pressure of the roadwheels against the set target pressures. If thepressure of one ormore tyres significantlydeviates from the target value, the Tyre PressureMonitoring Systemwill provide a warning on thevehicle information display and the TPMSwarninglight in the combinationmeter will illuminate.

If themessage is displayed on the vehicle information display and the TPMSwarning light illuminates, check and adjust the pressure of the tyres at theearliest opportunity.The Tyre PressureMonitoring Systemwill not activate until the vehicle hasdriven at a speed above 25 km/h.

RESTARTINg TPMSThe TPMSsystem needs to be restarted in the following cases:

• After the pressure of the tyre(s) has been adjusted• When a tyre or wheel has been replaced• When the position of tyres has been changed.

The TPMSsystem can be restarted through the Service [Serv.] menu in thevehicle information display.

For full details on the restarting procedure, refer to your vehicle’s Owner’sManual.

Audio System

<SEEK.TRACK> In DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) mode (where fitted):seeks the previous/next available DAB ensemble.In FM/AMmode: increases/decreases the radio frequencyautomatically until next station is found.In CDmode or when an external device is connected: fast forward/rewind through tracks.

Push to eject a CD.

<RADIO> Push to switch to radiomode or to switch between AM, FM andDAB (Digital Audio Broadcast, if equipped).

<STATUS> Push to display the audio status screen.

<MEDIA> Push to select the desired audio source (CD, iPod, USB,Bluetooth Streaming Audio or AUX).

<TUNE.FOLDER> Push or hold tomanually tune into a station in AM/FMradiomode. Push to selectMP3/WMA/AAC folders on an externallyconnected device.

When DAB (if equipped) is playing, pushing this button will change thestation within the ensemble.

Preset station buttons: Six preferred stations in the preset list for eachradio band can be stored.

<VOL/ > Push to switch the audio system on/off, turn to adjustvolume.

Bluetooth Streaming AudioIf you have a compatible Bluetooth device with streaming audio (A2DP profile),you can set up a wireless connection between your Bluetooth device and thein-vehicle audio system, enabling you to listen to the audio files stored onyour device through the vehicle’s audio system.

To set up the wireless connection between your audio device and thein-vehicle audio system:

1. Push the <MENU> button on the INFINITI controller.2. Touch [Settings] on the display.3. Touch [Bluetooth Settings] and [Pair Device] .4. Touch [Add NewDevice].5. When a PIN code appears on the screen, operate the Bluetooth device

to enter/confirm the PIN code.

Connecting your Mobile Phone viaBluetoothUsing Bluetooth technology, you can connect (pair) yourmobile phonewiththe in-vehicle system for hands-free use of yourmobile phone.

To pair yourmobile phonewith the in-vehicle system, follow the sameprocedure as described under Bluetooth Streaming Audio on the previouspage.

Auxiliary InputsYour vehicle is equippedwith two USB ports,located in the centre console, to which you canconnect compatible devices (mobile phones,iPods, other compatible audio devices, USBmemory sticks, etc.).

After connecting your device through one ofthe USB ports, push the <MEDIA> button on theaudio unit to select audio playback from the device connected through theUSP port.

Note: when two iPhones are connected to both of the USB ports, the system recognizesonly one of the connected iPhones at a time. The second iPhone will charge only.

Navigation SystemYour vehiclemay be equippedwith a Navigation systemwhich operation isdescribed in detail in the separate Navigation SystemOwner’sManual.

As an example, the basic procedure to enter a destination is described below.

SETTINg A DESTINATION

To set a destination for navigation, use the INFINITI controller and/or themulti-function control touch screen.

1. Push the <MENU> button on the INFINITI controller.2. Select [Navigation] from themenu and then [Street Address]3. The [Street Address] screen will be displayed. Now you can select your

destination by inputting postal code or city name, followed by thestreet address.

4. Select the city of the destination from the list.5. Enter the name of the street and touch [List]. A list screen is displayed.

Electronic Parking Sensor SystemThe electronic parking sensor system is a parking aid which uses ultrasonicsensors. It monitors the area around your vehicle using sensorsmounted inthe front and rear bumper. The parking sensor system audibly indicates thedistance between your vehicle and an object being detected.

The electronic parking sensor system is automatically activated when:

• The ignition is switched on.• The shift lever is in position D or R (automatic transmissionmodels)

or when a forward or reverse gear is selected (manual transmissionmodels).

• The electric parking brake is released.

When an object is detected at the front or rear of the vehicle, the systemwillalert you by an audible beep. The nearer the vehicle gets to the object, themore frequently the beepwill sound.

To temporarily switch off the parking sensor system,push the electronic parking sensor systemOFFswitch on the lower part of the instrument panel.The indicator light in the switch will turn on. Pushthe switch again to switch the system on. Theindicator light in the switch will turn off.

When switched OFF, the parking sensor systemwill automatically bereactivated when the engine is restarted.

Rear/Around view MonitorThe rear view or around viewmonitorsystem helps you tomanoeuvre yourvehicle by displaying objects behindand/or around the vehicle, e.g. whenparking your vehicle.

The systemwill automatically be activated when youselect reverse gear. Also, you canmanually activatethe system by pushing the <CAMERA> button onthe INFINITI Controller. The camera viewwill only bedisplayed with the ignition switched ON.

Pressing the camera button repeatedly will change theviews of the around viewmonitor.

MOvINgOBJECT DETECTIONThe around viewmonitor is equippedwith aMoving Object Detection (MOD)function. If a moving object is detected, a yellow boxwill appear around thecamera image and a beepwill sound to warn you on themoving object beingdetected.

Intelligent Park AssistIntelligent Park Assist is only an aid. It is not a substitute for your attentionto the immediate surroundings. The responsibility for safemanoeuvring andparking remains with you as the driver of the vehicle.

Intelligent ParkAssist can judge whether a parking space is big enough topark your vehicle in and takes over steering control to park inside the space. Itcan also assist with parking into a bay.

Intelligent ParkAssist is activated automatically when driving forwardswith aspeed up to approx. 35 km/h.While in operation, the system independentlylocates andmeasures parking spaces on both sides of the vehicle.

When driving at low speeds,the parking symbol will bedisplayed in the upper display(automatic transmissionmodels)or in themain display (manualtransmissionmodels).When a parking space is detected ateither side of the road, an arrowwill be displayed at the left or right side of the parking symbol.

Parking spaces on the passenger side will automatically be displayed by thearrow in the display. For the system to search for and display parking spaceson the driver's side, the driver's side turn signal lightmust be switched on.

To confirm a parking space being detected, press the <OK> button on thesteering wheel.

After shifting into reverse gear or selecting the R position onmodels withautomatic transmission, messages on the vehicle information displaywillguide you through the assisted parking procedure.

Note: when using the Intelligent Park Assist system, steering is taken over by the system.You need to accelerate and brake yourself!

Cruise Control and Speed Limiter Systems

Cruise Control andSpeed Limiter Operation

Cruise controlmaintains a constant (set) speed for you without the need foryou to depress the accelerator pedal.The speed limiter limits your speed to a setmaximum speed, unless you fullydepress the accelerator pedal.

The systems are operational only at speeds above approx. 30 km/h.

To switch between cruise control and speed limiter operation, quickly pushthe button on the cruise control/speed limiter lever. If the speed limiter isactivated, the <LIM> indicator light in the lever will illuminate. If the light isoff, cruise control is selected. To deactivate the cruise control system, brieflypush the lever towards the front of the vehicle.

FUNCTIONSOF CRUISE CONTROL/SPEED LIMITER LEvER

Brieflymove lever upwards to store the current speed.Move lever upwards and hold to store a higher speed.Release lever when desired speed is reached.

Speed limiter ON indicator light.

Store current speed or call up last stored speed.

Brieflymove lever downwards to store the current speed.Move lever downwards and hold to store a lower speed.Release lever when desired speed is reached.

Switch between cruise control and speed limiter.

Deactivate cruise control/speed limiter system.

To start using the cruise control/speed limiter:

1. Select either cruise control or speed limiter by pressing button onthe lever.

2. Accelerate to the desired speed.3. Briefly press the lever up or down to store the current speed.4. In case cruise control is selected, you can now take your foot off the

accelerator pedal.

INTELLIgENT CRUISE CONTROL (ICC)The ICC system uses a sensor behind the INFINITI logo on the front grille todetect a vehicle driving ahead of you. If the speed of the detected vehicle islower than the speed of your vehicle, the ICC systemwill automatically reduceyour cruising speed tomaintain a distance selected by you.

Note that the ICC system can only apply about 50% ofthe total braking force. If the ICC system cannotmaintainthe selected distance, a chimewill sound and the vehicleahead indicator light will come on to notify you to takenecessary action.

To increase the distanceto the vehicle ahead tobemaintained by the ICCsystem, turn the knobclockwise. To reduce thedistance, turn the knobcounter-clockwise.

Hill Start AssistThe Hill Start Assist system automatically keeps the brakes applied for a shorttime to prevent the vehicle from rolling as you start to drive away on a down-or uphill slope.This gives you enough time tomove your foot from the brake pedal to theaccelerator pedal before the vehicle starts to roll.

Lane DepartureWarning can beswitched on or off through the[Assist] menu on the vehicleinformation display.

BLINDSPOTWARNINg

The Blind SpotWarning (BSW) helps you to detect vehicles in the lane(s) nextto you.

When the system detects vehicles in alane next to you while you operate theturn signal, a chimewill sound twice andthe blind spot warning indicator lightwill flash until the detected vehicle hasleft the detection zone.

Blind SpotWarning can be switched onor off through the [Assist] menu on thevehicle information display.

FORWARD EMERgENCy BRAKE

The Forward Emergency Brake system assists you in avoiding front collisions.

The system uses a radar sensor located behind the INFINITI logo on the frontgrille to calculate the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front ofyou.

If the distance becomes too small, the vehicle aheadindicator light will flash. If the distance becomeseven smaller a chimewill sound and the forwardcollision avoidance systemwarning light will startflashing. If finally the distance becomes even smaller,

active braking will be applied to avoid or reduce the impact of a collision withthe vehicle in front of you.

Forward Emergency Brake canbe switched on or off throughthe [Assist] menu on the vehicleinformation display.

WARNINg

The forward emergency brake system is a supplemental aid to the driver. It isnot a substitute for your attention to traffic conditions or your responsibilityto drive safely. It cannot prevent accidents due to carelessness or dangerousdriving.

The forward emergency brake systemmay not function under all driving,traffic, weather and road conditions.

Note: Refer to your vehicle's Owner'sManual for full details on the functioning of theForward Emergency Brake system.

TRAFFIC SIgN RECOgNITION

Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)displays detected speed limits andother traffic signs on the vehicleinformation display.

It uses a camera, mounted behindthe windshield to detect traffic signs.

If the system detects a conditionalspeed limit, then both speeds andconditions are displayed on thevehicle information display.

Traffic Sign Recognition settings can be adjusted through [Assist] menu on thevehicle information display.

Fuel FillingTo open the fuel filler lid, unlock thevehicle and gently push the rear side ofthe fuel filler lid.

Bonnet Opening

To open the bonnet, pull the bonnet release handle at the lowerinstrument panel. Then slightly lift up the bonnet and pull lever sidewaysto unlock the bonnet.
