IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE!

The California Safe Drinking Waterand Toxic Enforcement Act

requires the governor of Californiato publish a list of substancesknown to the state to cause birth

defects or other reproductive harmand requires businesses to warncustomers of potential exposure tosuch substances.

Gas appliances can cause minorexposure to four of thesesubstances, namely benzene,carbon monoxide, formaldehydeand soot, caused primarily by theincomplete combustion of naturalgas or L.P. fuels. Properly adjustedappliances, indicated by the bluishrather than a yellow flame, willminimize incomplete combustion.Exposure to these substances canbe minimized by further ventingwith an open window or using aventilation fan or hood. Thecooktop, as shipped from thefactory, can only be operated withnatural gas. High flames and toxicfumes could cause serious injury.If you wish to use your cooktopwith L.P. gas, you must convertthe cooktop following theprocedure found in the installationinstructions shipped with yourappliance.

To remove the adhesive left from packaging tape, use household dishwashingliquid, mineral oi! or cooking oil. With a soft cloth rub into the area and allow tosoak, Rinse and dry well. Repeat procedure using an appliance polish toinsure no damage is done to the appliance This should be done beforethe cooktop is turned on for the first time, The tape cannot beremoved once the cooktop has heated.

The electrode of thespark igniter isexposed beyond thetop of the burner.

When cleaning the burnerbowl, be careful not to snagthe electrode of the sparkigniter with your cleaningcloth. Damage to the ignitercould occur. Be careful notto turn on any cooktopcontrols while cleaningburner bowls. A slightelectrical shock mightresult, which could causeyou to knock over hotcookware.

TO REPLACE

Place the burner head onto the burnerbowl making sure the location of thespark igniter matches up with theopening in the burner head

Placethe burnercap onthe burnerhead.

Place the grate over the burnerassembly and onto the burner bowl.The indentations of the bowl should

match the location pins on the bottomof the grates.
