SUDOKUTo complete this puzzle, place the numbers 1-9 in the empty cells so every row, column and 3-3 box (in bold) contains all nine digits. Each number 1-9 may appear only once in each row, column and 3-3 box. (Answer on page 14).

With all that can go wrong with a healthy pregnancy, it’s hard to imagine why anyone would want to put themselves at risk unnecessarily.
That might be the reaction of some who watch “Born in the Wild,” a new unscripted series premiering Tuesday, March 3, on Lifetime.
The hourlong series follows six expectant couples as they come to the very personal deci-sion to experience natural child-birth in the wilderness — with no hospitals, no doctors and no medications.
A rather graphic trailer dis-played at a recent gathering of TV critics in Pasadena, Calif., shows a woman giving birth in an outdoor lean-to with family present. The baby is delivered in full view of cameras and family members — including a toddler — and all gather around to meet the new arrival. But while chil-dren are among the witnesses here, make no mistake: Viewers with small children may want to think twice about letting their young ones watch.
And then, of course, there’s the safety issue, too. With all that can go wrong with child-birth in the proximity of all
that medical science has to of-fer, why put yourself at such a marked disadvantage?
“A lot of people have that question,” Audrey Bird, an Alaska resident and the woman in the trailer, says at the Pasa-dena gathering. “Why would you choose to go so far out and to have your baby outside? For us, it wasn’t about going into the middle of nowhere to have our child. We live in the middle of nowhere. This is simply a home birth for us. You know, our first child was born in the hospital, and it was an experi-ence that we personally decided we didn’t want to do again. It wasn’t something we enjoyed. So we decided to do something different.”
Bird, 25, and her husband, Peter, both had training in that area, she as a midwife and he from his former job as a sheriff, so they felt confident in their abilities to handle anything that might go wrong. They also had a back-up.
“We had contacted medevac personnel,” she says. “We had everything on-site that we would need for most emergen-cies: oxygen, stuff for hemor-rhaging, all of those supplies we had. In case there was an emergency, we had medevac on standby.”

Season 2 of “Broadchurch” premieres Wednesday on BBC America.
By John Crook© Zap2it
When his shattering murder mystery “Broadchurch” ex-ploded into an international hit a couple of years ago, writer-creator Chris Chibnall hinted that he had something different in mind for Season 2. In fact, he wouldn’t even confirm which, if any, characters from Season 1 — including detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller (David Tennant, Olivia Colman) — would be back.
Fans will be relieved, then, to find nearly all their favorites returning as the new season pre-mieres Wednesday, March 4, on BBC America.
“Chris sees this season as a courtroom drama, not a thriller. In his mind, that was the shift he was talking about,” execu-tive producer Jane Featherstone explains. “We were still working things out at that point, but he didn’t want to just have the same cops doing another murder in the same town. He wanted to work out the impact of a very public murder trial on these individuals we had come to know and love.”
Season 2 opens on the day of Joe Miller’s (Matthew Gravelle) arraignment, but while specta-tors — and even Joe’s barrister — expect a guilty plea and quick
sentencing, things take an un-expected turn and Broadchurch braces itself for a murder trial that threatens to blow the lid off still more local secrets. Joe en-lists a formidable defense team headed by Queen’s Counsel (QC) Sharon Bishop (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), a fascinating new character.
“For her, the main thing is that everyone deserves a good de-fense,” the actress says. “Look-ing at the evidence, she sees that there definitely were things that went awry. That alone told her this guy was not going to be treated fairly in this small town, in such an emotionally charged situation.”
Meanwhile, Alec — still nurs-ing a bum ticker and no longer on active duty — remains in Broadchurch for reasons that at first seem unclear, until his past comes back to haunt him via new developments in the previously failed investigation that followed him like a dark cloud as he first arrived in the town last season. This second-ary story line introduces two other new characters played by Eve Myles (“Torchwood”) and James D’Arcy (“Marvel’s Agent Carter”), but it’s virtually impos-sible to reveal more about that plot thread without venturing into some major spoilers.
