Guide Book & Directory Adver sing Opportunity
We are in the process of upda ng our annual Guide Book & Directory for the church. This book will contain everything per nent to our church: the various minis-tries, organiza ons, commi ees, ac vi es, func ons and events plus a complete directory of all members. This book is being provided and direct-mailed to each family at no cost to our church, and it is again being subsidized by local businesses that adver se. If you own or manage a business and would like to find out about adver sing in our book, please call the Church Office. Recent survey results by Guide Book Publishing show that 92.1% of families would rather patronize a Guide Book & Directory adver ser over a non-adver ser. It “will pay” to adver se in our new Guide Book & Directory.
Update Membership Informa on Does our Church database have YOUR family member-ship record correct? Here is your chance to update YOUR record for our annual Guide Book & Directory (if you haven’t already done so). It is me for us to update our database with any changes, addi ons, or dele ons that may have occurred in YOUR family over the past year. Have you changed your phone number? Have you moved? Are you preparing to move soon? Are all of your children s ll at home and are they all included in your membership record? Do you want your record pub-lished? If you have not already informed the Church Office about changes to your record, please let us know now so that the informa on in the Guide Book & Directory is correct. The Church Office number is 630.833.7730 or email: [email protected].
Thank you for your help!

PARISH NEWS Statement of Bishop R. Daniel Conlon, Diocese of Joliet
Regarding Passage of Illinois Senate Bill 25 The misnamed “Reproduc ve Health Act”, Senate Bill 25, is a horrific piece of legisla on that will lead to more children dying through the violent act of abor on, even at a point when they are able to
survive outside the womb. Science indicates that life begins at concep on, and to deny the life of certain human beings at young ages is an a ack on human rights.. No persons’ life should be in jeopardy simply based upon his or her age. Only in the womb do our laws allow some humans to be accorded the full rights of personhood and some not. Addi onally, this legisla on is not in the best interest of women as it removes abor on clinics from regula ons for serious medical procedures. The Church is commi ed to upholding the dignity of women, but does not believe that abor on is a solu on when challenging situa ons arise. Rather, working towards a society where both mother and child are cared for is the true path of jus ce and compassion. I am aware that some of the legislators who voted in favor of this legisla on believe that it violates their own conscience. Yet, for them party loyalty, even on such a weighty moral issue, has seemingly trumped conscience. Abor on is an illogical and inconsistent policy for anyone who stands for human rights. To allow one person to decide whether another person lives or dies is even more capricious than the death penalty or war. Ironically, as Illinois expands the legal and even cons tu onal right to abor on, many of its neighboring states have moved to restrict abor on. Clearly, we are a divided society on this issue. The Catholic Church stakes its posi on on the ul mate belief that God creates every human person and endows each of them with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Father’s Day Special Collec on for Diocesan Priest’s Care & Support Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, On Father’s Day, June 15-16, there will be a special collec on to care for our infirm and re red priests.
The Fund for Diocesan Infirmed and Elderly Priests is a special way for the people of the Diocese of Joliet to express their concern for the welfare of those who have dedicated their lives in service to our pastoral care. The money in this fund goes toward priests who need help with extraordinary medical expenses or suffer a catastrophic illness. It also provides for the care of the St. John Vianney Villa, home to several re red priests in the Diocese of Joliet. Prayerfully consider making a dona on to help our aged and sick priests as an expression of apprecia on for all they have done in exemplifying Christ’s mercy, through their spiritual guidance and celebra on of the sacraments. On behalf of all the ac ve and re red priests of the Diocese, I am grateful for your prayers and for your generous support of the Father’s Day Collec on for our aged and infirm diocesan priests. Please be assured of my prayers for you. Most Reverend R. Daniel Conlon Bishop of Joliet

NEWS
Good people of St. A’s, I regret to inform you that I will be leaving St. A’s. In mid-August
a er my husband, Philip, graduates, we will be moving to Covington, KY, which is the greater Cincinna area. It’s where Philip is from, and he has a chiropractor job wai ng on him. We are excited to move closer to family, but it is, of course, bi ersweet.
When I think of my me at St. A’s, I think of adventure, growth, trust, finding the good in every situa on, and praying for others like never before. Looking back, it was difficult for me to leave Indianapolis, the only city and people I had ever known. It was especially challenging to leave my close-knit family. I knew God was calling me here, so I just followed. One day while praying, I found this verse, “Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow a er me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it” (Ma . 10:37-39). This verse became my mo o, and so I put my heart into this parish.
I had the opportunity to be a part of many retreats, family events, Saints camp, service projects, Sacraments, classes, prayer services, and more with the Faith Forma on program. I fought to protect our children in our community by co-facilita ng the Protec ng God Children classes. My heart was touched with the chance to share my story and to listen to the faith lives of others in the Women’s CRHP ministry. I was blessed to have been asked by parishioners to share part of my story by speaking to groups on and off our campus. Most importantly, I got to be with the people of God. We have done some great work together, but it wasn’t even about what we were doing. I have thoroughly enjoyed being in your presence and seeing Christ in you.
I’m not certain why God chose me to do His work at St. A’s and I’m not sure what I’ve exactly accomplished for Him here, but I do know one thing: I have felt nothing but support and love from the first day I stepped foot into the Faith Forma on office. Thank you so much for everything! It has been an honor to be a part of the St. A’s family. Pace e Bene, Natalie Ryan
We are hosting an
Ice Cream Social for Natalie
Thursday, July 25th at 7pm in the hall.
