The 3007 Electromagnetic transmitter is a high power unit which is used for pig tracking and
locating either subsea or topside.
The transmitter operates effectively in buried pipelines, pipelines carrying gas, and in pipeline
bundles where acoustic transmitters are either less effective or ineffective.
The transmitter emits a 22Hz signal and an inherent EM null spot is detectable when the
antenna is 90 degrees to, and pointing at the centre of, the transmitter allowing accurate
positioning of a pig.
The standard transmitter can be changed between two pulsing transmission rates via an
external rotating switch and an internal switch for the pressure switch versions.
Parameters such as lifetime, pulse mode, and battery type can be customised at the
customers’ request, please contact Online Electronics Ltd to discuss any special requirements.
PRESSURE SWITCH OPTION: The 3007PS can be activated by the presence of external
pressure (typically 3 to 8 bar). For example the 3007PS may be installed inside a pipeline at
atmospheric pressure several weeks before it is activated, when the pipeline internal pressure
is increased to 10 bar the 3007PS will activate.
LATCHING PRESSURE SWITCH OPTION: The 3007PSL behaves identically to the 3007PS
however when the transmitter is activated by external pressure it LATCHES on. If the 3007PSL
needs to be turned off it must be opened and manually turned off.
DUAL RATE OPTION: The 3007DR is fitted with a 3 pin IE55 subsea connector which allows
an external piece of equipment to control the transmission rate of the transmitter. For example
a Break Wire Gauge Plate can be connected and will produce a change of transmission rate if
damaged.
DELAY ACTIVATION OPTION: The 3007 has a configurable time delay which commences
when the unit is switched on, after the time delay has expired the unit will activate.
