Most Pure Heart of Mary Church & School is a gospel faith community baptized into the life, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We invite all people into a personal relationship

with Christ through prayer, worship, stewardship and service to God and neighbor. Eucharist is the center of our faith and we celebrate our Catholic African American Heritage.

We empower our youth to be gospel witnesses through faith-building programs.

What can a shameless and unjust judge pitted against a crusty and pestering woman teach us about justice and vindication (to restore what is right and just) in the kingdom of God? Jesus tells a story that is all too true - a defenseless widow is taken advantaged of and refused her rights. Through sheer persistence she wears down an unscrupulous judge until he gives her justice. Persistence pays off, and that's especial-ly true for those who trust in God. Jesus illus-trates how God as our Judge and Vindicator is much quicker to come to our defense and to bring us his justice, blessing, and help when we need it. But we can easily lose heart and forget to ask our heavenly Father for his grace and help.

Thank You For Your Stewardship

A priest was near a group of his parishioners when he overheard them talking about various pastors who had served the parish. His ears perked up when he heard an older man say, “Whenever someone asks me, ‘Which of our pastors did you like best?’ my answer is always, ‘The pastor we have at any given time is my favorite.’” The pastor who was listening in breathed a quiet sigh of relief. God sends each pastor to us with his own set of spiritual gifts, and God works through each pastor’s gifts to bring us God’s blessings. So we thank our Pastor, Fr. Bura, and ask God to bless and protect him.

We have set the date for our Annual Memorial Mass for the deceased of the Parish for Saturday, November 2nd, at the 4:00pm Vigil Mass. This is the occasion when we remember all of our family and parishioners who have gone to their heavenly reward during the past year. Families will soon be receiving special invitations to participate in this Mass; yet, all are welcome to celebrate with us.

The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually in October. It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful.

Remember to turn in your “Memory Pages” on which you can list the names of all of your dearly departed family and friends. The names will be placed on our Altar and remembered in all Masses during November.

Please join us in the parish hall for Coffee and Doughnuts on the First Sunday of each month after the 8 & 11 am Masses .

Mass Intention - It is a wonderful gift of prayer to have a Mass offered for a deceased loved-one or for a special intention. Make your Mass requests at the parish office.

Special thanks to the Gospel Choir who made a to-tal of $535.00 for the sales of T-Shirts and Bucket Hats during Fall Festival.
