IRAN NUCLEAR DEAL

Advanced nation’s contention is that Iran is building nuclear weapons.

Hence, international sanctions were imposed since 2006.

But, Iran is insisting that its nuclear activities are entirely peaceful.

On and off talks for 12 years, culminated with an agreement.

Iran agreed to get rid of 98% of its stockpile of enriched uranium. Centrifuges, which are needed to enrich

uranium will be reduced from 19,000 to 6,000. Enrichment will be stopped at

underground Fordow facility. Strict inspection by IAEA. UN arms embargo will remain in place for

5 years. Embargo on missiles will be there for 8

years.

ABOUT NEW HORIZONS SPACE CRAFT

This is to understand the icy worlds at

the edge of our solar system

To have a reconnaissance of Pluto,

Charon and at least one Kuiper belt

objects

It will look into• Surface properties• Geology• Interior make up• Atmosphere

New Horizons is the first spacecraft to successfully fly by the Pluto. Fly by means “close approach of a spacecraft to a planet for

FINDINGS BY NEW HORIZONS SPACE CRAFT

“Heart shaped feature” is a mountain range with peaks as high as 11000

ft (3,500 mts) above the surface of the icy body.

The mountains of Pluto are formed no more than 100 million years ago.

• Solar system is 4.56 billion years old.

The region is geologically active even today.

Vast, craterless plains were also found.
