3/17/2020 1 Bathtub Level: Intermediate Using the basic shapes key above, follow the easy step-by-step instructions below to make your PLAY-DOH creation.     Bathtub Level: Intermediate

    For the tub, make a large, long tube, then round off the ends and top. Roll a long, fat rope for the rim and two very short fat ropes for feet.

    Make two more short fat ropes for feet. Then roll lots of tiny balls for bubbles. Flip the tub so the flat side is up. Pinch one end of each of the feet to make it flat.

    Attach the flat ends of the feet to the tub. To add the rim, wrap the long rope around the tub. Add the bubbles. Next roll one small ball for the tap and two smaller balls for the faucets. Place the tap at the tub's end.

    Attach the two faucets on either side of the tap, and add more soap bubbles if you want. You’re done! All you need now is a rubber duckie!

    Backpack Level: Intermediate

    For the main part of the backpack, make a large cube and then round off its top and bottom as shown. Make three small cubes and one flat square. Make a larger flat square for the top flap of the backpack.

    To make the front pouch, place one small cube on the front of the backpack, then add one

    flat square to the pouch to make its flap. To make the top flap, place the larger square on the top of the backpack. Roll two fat ropes.

    To make the side pouches, place the last two squares on the sides. To make the straps, flatten both ropes and attach the ends to the back of the backpack.

    Roll two very short ropes and flatten them. Add them to the front of the backpack to make handles for the flaps. What a cool backpack! Now try making your own books or camping gear.

    Camera Level: Intermediate

    Make a rectangular cube for the camera’s body. Shape two flat squares, one a little smaller than the other. Make a long rope. Roll one small ball and one medium-sized ball, then flatten into circles with your finger.

    For the viewfinder, stack the smaller square on the bigger one and place on the top of the

    camera. Stack the two circles as shown to make the lens. Roll three more tiny balls and flatten the rope you made in step one.

    Place the lens on the camera. Flatten the tiny balls slightly, then stack two above the viewfinder to be the camera’s button. Make the camera strap by bending your flattened rope so its ends touch.

    Attach the strap to the side of the camera and add the last flat circle as the fastener. Now you can jazz up your camera up with extra buttons. Wow! Building that camera was a snap!

    Gecko Level: Intermediate

    Make one long, skinny rope and four short, fat tubes. Then roll a long, fat rope for the lizard's body. Squish or roll one end of the body into a point for his tail.

    Pinch the fat end of the lizard's body to form his neck and head. Then attach the four tubes to his sides for legs. Place the long, skinny rope on top of the body, and pinch it to make a bumpy spine. Make two medium-sized balls for eyes, and lots of tiny balls.

    Place one tiny ball at the center of each eye, and place the eyes on the head. Flatten the other tiny balls and place them on the lizard's body to make spots.

    Skateboard Level: Intermediate

    Roll two small tubes. Then make a long, fat tube and flatten it into a skateboard shape—square on one end and rounded on the other. Place the board on the small tubes to give the skateboard wheels.

    Roll two tiny balls and a long skinny rope. Then make a flat square and pinch out its corners to form a diamond shape.

    Lay the skinny rope in a zigzag on the diamond to make a cool logo for your skateboard. Flatten the tiny balls and place them in the center of the wheels to make axles.

    Add the logo to the top of the skateboard and you’re done! That’s a pretty rad skateboard. What other cool sports stuff can you make? - or: Try coming up you’re your own logo for the top of your skateboard!

    Rootbeer Float Level: Intermediate

    To make the glass, roll a short, fat tube. Then roll one fat rope and some skinny ropes, too. Roll a ball and flatten it into a circle.

    Place the circle on top of the glass to make it look like it’s full of root beer. Flatten the skinny ropes and place them on the sides of the glass as shown. Bend the ends of the fat rope to make a handle. Now roll another ball.

    Place the handle on the glass. Flatten one side of the ball against the table and pinch the top to make it look like a big, melty scoop of ice cream. Place the ice cream on top of the glass.

    Squeeze the edges of the ice cream to make it drip over the edges of the glass. Great job! That's one frosty mug of pretend rootbeer!

    Flatten the cones slightly. Attach the pointy ends of the cones to the pointy ends of the balloons. Roll out three long skinny ropes and one short skinny rope.

    Tuck the ends of the long ropes behind the cones to make the balloon strings. Attach pieces of the shorter rope to make the ties.

    Continue to flatten pieces of rope and criss-cross over top of pie to complete latticework. Pinch edges of lattice to crust. Use a Play-Doh knife to indent along edge of crust. That is one realistic-looking pie! Way to go!
