Operator StationDesigned for comfort and ease of operation.

Cab shell. The double wall, pressed cabshell is mounted to the swing frame usingviscous mounts for reduced sound andvibrations.

Wiper. A standard large wiper for the upper and lower windows offers the selection between continuous and intermittent modes and provides a better visibility.

Dial throttle. Dial throttle with ten settings for simple, precise repeatableengine speed adjustment.

Automatic climate control. Optionalautomatic climate control maintainsconstant temperature in the cab in both hot and cold weather conditions and, at the touch of a switch, the operator canchoose between fresh or recirculated air.

2 Joysticks. Joysticks control allimplements and swing functions with minimal effort. This includes 4 switches on each joystick. The integrated joystick consolesadjust to operator preference. Multipro. It controls state-of-the-arthydraulics and engine performance formaximized productivity, increased fuelefficiency, and lower emission and sound levels.

Compact monitor. The 319C uses acompact monitor that nevertheless shows avariety of information. The 319C monitoruses a liquid crystal display, and the dotmatrix screen is capable of displaying awide range of items, such as writtenmessages. It consists of an 8-key keyboardthat makes it user friendly to the operator.

Pump Flow and Pressure Settings.The 319C monitor is capable of recordingfive hydraulic pump flow and hydraulicpressure settings for various tools. This function is very convenient because iteliminates the need to adjust the hydraulicsevery time a tool is changed and instantlyprovides the operator with the correctsetting of flow and pressure for each tool.

Alert. This monitor is capable of auto-diagnostic and is designed to alert animpending problem to the operator.

Filter and Oil Warnings. The monitorprovides the number of hours that filterand fluids have been used. It alsodisplays filter and oil change warningswhen the number of hours used reachesthe maintenance interval.

Languages. In addition to icons, the 319C monitor displays language-based information identifying variousfunctions. 20 different displaylanguages are available.

Easy to operate hydraulics. Cat hydraulics give the 319C excep-tional efficiency and controllabilityunmatched in the industry forconsistently high performance in allapplications. The 319C easy-to-usehydraulic system provides automaticinfinite priority selections betweenswing and boom, maximizing per-formance and simplifying operation.Boom and swing priority is adjustedautomatically depending on joystickinput, eliminating the need to select the work-mode. This is a uniquefeature in the market.

Auxiliary Hydraulic Circuits.The new auxiliary hydraulic circuits are electronically controlled, allowingessential parameters for frequently usedhydro-mechanical worktools to be pre-recorded. This on-board electro-hydraulic system eliminates the need for manual readjustments to theauxiliary hydraulics, each time adifferent tool is used.

Hydraulic Pumps Cross SensingSystem. It improves productivity withfaster implement speeds and quicker,stronger pivot turns.

Hydraulic Cylinder Snubbers.The hydraulic cylinder snubbers at rodend of boom cylinders and both ends ofstick cylinders cushion shocks, reducesound and increase cylinder life, keepingthe machine working longer.

Integrated Tool Control system.With the tool control (option), the machine is being provided with anelectronic additional programmablestackable valve and the ability to optimizethe machine performances according to 5 tool specifications (including settingsfor electrical relief valve for hammercircuit and flow). Flow distributionbetween implements is analyzed andoptimized, with the ability to set priorityon the tool or the implements. This optionalso includes special joysticks withmodulated switches for medium and highpressure modulation.

Hydraulic Oil. Caterpillar hydraulic oiloffers maximum protection againstrusting, mechanical and corrosive wear in all hydraulic systems. Caterpillarbiodegradable synthetic ester hydraulic oil is factory-installed as an option.

Scheduled Oil Sampling. It allows forscheduled replacement or repair ofcomponents before the machine is stoppedbecause of a major breakdown.

Cat 3066 T EngineThe six-cylinder turbocharged engine is built for power, reliability and easy maintenance.

Cat 3066 T Engine. The 319C ispowered by a Cat 3066 T dieselengine, built for world-classperformance and reliability, low maintenance, long life andexcellent fuel economy for lowoperating costs.� The 3066E T Engine complies

with the EU sound regulation(2000/14/EC) and Stage II EUEmission Directive 97/68/EC.

Reliability. The 3066 T engine isreliable, easy to maintain, with lowermaintenance cost.� The oil filter is located on

the top of the engine for easymaintenance.

� Capacity of the sump and the oilcartridge allows to increase themaintenance intervals from 250 h to 500 h.

Capacity. The capacity of the enginehas been increased to 1.4 liter,reducing the engine speed dropduring the load impact, which givesa good engine response duringtransient cycle.

Starting performance. To avoidwhite smoke during cold starting, the 3066 T engine is equipped withan air heater on the inlet manifold.

Fuel system. Efficient directinjection fuel system means lower operating cost.

Aluminum alloy pistons. Heatresistant aluminum alloy pistonshave a short compression height,reducing weight and improvingefficiency.

Automatic Engine Control. AutomaticEngine Control (AEC) with convenientone-touch command. Three-stage controlmaximizes fuel efficiency and reducessound levels.� First stage AEC: Selected when the

AEC indicator on the Multipro panel is “OFF”. If a no-load or light-loadcondition continues for more than 3 seconds, the AEC reduces enginespeed by 100 rpm.

� Second stage AEC: Selected when theAEC indicator on the Multipro panel is “ON”. If a no-load or light-loadcondition continues for more than 3 seconds, the AEC reduces enginespeed to 1300 rpm.

� Third stage AEC: Pressing the switchon the top of the right hand controljoystick when the levers are in neutralposition, reduces the engine speed to1020 rpm. If the switch is pressedagain or if a control lever is moved,the engine speed returns to its normallevel.

Undercarriage and Structure319C LN structural components and undercarriage are the backbone of the machine’s durability.

Grease-lubricated Track (GLT).It delivers longer track link and innerbushing life. GLT also reduces travelnoise and reduces potential for frozentrack joints.

Maximum uptime – Service and MaintenanceExtended Service Intervals and Easy access reduce operating costs.

Extended Service Intervals.319C service and maintenance intervalshave been extended to reduce machineservice time and increase machineavailability.

Air Filter Compartment. The air filterfeatures a double-element constructionfor superior cleaning efficiency. When the air cleaner plugs, a warning is displayed on the monitor screen inside the cab.

Ground Level Service. The design and layout of the 319C was made with the service technician in mind.Many service locations are easilyaccessible at ground level allowingcritical maintenance to get done quickly and efficiently.

Pump Compartment. A service door on the right side of the upper structureallows ground-level access to the pumpand pilot filter.

Capsule Filter. The hydraulic returnfilter, a capsule filter, is situated outsidethe hydraulic tank. This filter preventscontaminants from entering the systemwhen hydraulic oil is changed and keepsthe operation clean.

Anti-Skid Plate. Anti-skid punched-starplate covers the top of storage box andupper structure to prevent slippingduring maintenance.

Radiator Compartment. The left rearservice door allows easy access to the engine radiator and the oil cooler. A reserve tank and drain cock areattached to the radiator for simplifiedmaintenance.

Caterpillar Product Link systemattachment. It includes a transceivermodule (on-board the machine), officeapplication PC software, and a satellitecommunications network to trackmachine hours, location, and warnings.Product Link simplifies maintenancescheduling, fleet management,unauthorized machine usage ormovement, and product problem eventtracking and diagnosis (PL-201).

Bearings. New boom and stick standardbearings only need greasing every 1000 hours.

Grease-lubricated Track. Greaselubricated seals protect the track link and deliver long track link pin andbushing inner wear life.

Fan Guard. Engine radiator fan iscompletely enclosed by fine wire mesh,reducing the risk of an accident.

Greasing Block. Remote greasing blockon the boom and two grease points forthe swing bearing deliver grease to hard-to-reach locations.
