ATTENTION ALL EUCHARIST MINISTERS, LECTORS, HOSPITALITY and CHOIR:
On Sunday, November 19th, we plan to meet with all ministers involved with these liturgical ministries at 1:00 PM in the church in Upper. If you are involved with any of these ministries in either Upper or Kirby, please plan to attend. We are forming a liturgy committee and we need your input and observations regarding these very important ministries. We will have a tentative January through June, 2018 schedule for you to review. We have only 2 classes prior to Thanksgiving Break. Where has the time gone? We are having our Annual Food Drive this month for the food pantries in Upper and Forest. This is a great way to teach and include your children in almsgiving. Please allow them to be in the decision making with their food donation (within reason of course). You may even suggest they do chores around the house to earn the food they are donating. This will make the experience much more personal. Our calendar for the rest of the month: Nov 8 – Notes sent home about Food Drive Nov 15 – Collect food for Food Drive Nov 22 – No Classes – Thanksgiving Break Nov 29 – Classes resume – Advent Season begins

MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK! We are putting together
the new ministry schedules for January through June of 2018.
There are many opportunities to share your gifts with the parish
community. In particular, we are in need of Extraordinary
Ministers of Holy Communion but we also have opportunities to
join the choir, garden committee, church décor committee,
servers, lectors, welcoming committee, prayer support,
hospitality committee, and we could go on and on. The needs are
many. Please consider volunteering to serve in some capacity and
help the parish community grow and flourish. Also, now is the
time to make any changes with your schedule. If you can no
longer fulfill the ministry you have been involved with for the past
years or need to change your commitment, please let us know by
Thanksgiving so that we can accommodate your needs. If you are
interested in offering your services to help with the needs of the
parish or if you have changes you need to make, please call the
parish office (419-294-1268).
PORK CHOP BBQ (Drive thru only) will take
place on Sunday November 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s School. Dinners consist of 2 pork chops, potatoes, applesauce and a roll. The cost for a dinner is $8.00. This BBQ is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus
and proceeds raised will go to benefit St. Peter’s School. Tickets for the BBQ will be sold following the Masses on November 4th and 5th. There will only be a limited number of tickets available the day of the BBQ. Please support the Knights who do so much for our school!
Mrs. Patricia Anderson
Principal
What a wonderful turnout we had for our annual Harvest
Party. The weather was not so nice, but the food, fun and
fellowship inside was delightful. Thank you, SPS Parent
Team for organizing this event for our families!
We are pleased to announce our two new School Advisory
Council members, Mr. Ross Niederkohr and Mrs. Brittany
Walton. They will replace Mrs. Amy Irwin and Mrs. Kristi
Swartz who have finished their 3 year term. Thank you to
all for your willingness to serve St. Peter School.
The Knights of Columbus will hold their drive-thru Pork
Chop barbeque on Sunday, November 12. All proceeds
benefit St. Peter School. Tickets can be purchased by
calling the school office 419-294-1395. Remembrance of our Beloved Dead: As a parish community we will have several special opportunities to remember our loved ones who have been called to their eternal home. This year the blessing of the cemeteries will take place at the following times:
Nov. 2nd - St. Mary Cemetery, Kirby after the 11:00 AM Mass in Kirby Nov. 2nd - St. Joseph Cemetery, Salem before the 7:00 PM Mass in Salem
Nov. 5th - St. Peter Cemetery, Upper Sandusky at 1:00 PM
You are invited to come pray at the cemetery where your love ones are laid to rest.
On the week-end of November 4th and 5th we will remember parishioners who have died since November 2016. All parishioners are invited to the special remembrance Masses and family members will be lighting a special candle to remember their loved one! Eternal rest, grant unto them, O Lord!
