SIGN OF THE CROSS

GREETING Presider: The Lord be with you. All: And with your spirit.

PENITENTIAL ACT

Presider: In the Gospel reading today, Jesus calls us to love of God and neighbor. For the times we have failed in

loving God and neighbor, let us pause to ask pardon and mercy.

Deacon: Lord Jesus, you are our rock of refuge: Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

Christ Jesus, you showed us love that has no bounds: Christ, have mercy. Christ, have mercy.

Lord Jesus, you call us to offer ourselves in self-giving love: Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

Presider: May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us to everlasting life. Amen.

GLORIA Mass of Renewal, Curtis Stephan

COLLECT

LITURGY OF THE WORD Sit. FIRST READING Dt 6:2-6

A reading from the book of Deuteronomy

Moses spoke to the people, saying:

"Fear the LORD, your God, and keep, throughout

the days of your lives,

all his statutes and commandments which I

enjoin on you, and thus have long life.

Hear then, Israel, and be careful to observe them,

that you may grow and prosper the more,

in keeping with the promise of the LORD, the God

of your fathers,

to give you a land flowing with milk and honey.

"Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD

alone!

Therefore, you shall love the LORD, your God,

with all your heart,

and with all your soul,

and with all your strength.

Take to heart these words which I enjoin on you

today."

The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM Ps 18:2-3, 3-4, 47, 51

I love you, O LORD, my strength,

O LORD, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer. R.

My God, my rock of refuge,

4

my shield, the horn of my salvation, my

stronghold!

Praised be the LORD, I exclaim,

and I am safe from my enemies. R.

The LORD lives! And blessed be my rock!

Extolled be God my savior.

You who gave great victories to your king

and showed kindness to your anointed. R.

SECOND READING Heb 7:23-28

A reading from the Letter to the Hebrews

Brothers and sisters:

The levitical priests were many because they were prevented by death from remaining in office,

but Jesus, because he remains forever, has a priesthood that does not pass away.

Therefore, he is always able to save those who approach God through him,

since he lives forever to make intercession for them.

It was fitting that we should have such a high priest:

holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners,

higher than the heavens.

He has no need, as did the high priests, to offer sacrifice day after day,

first for his own sins and then for those of the people;

he did that once for all when he offered himself.

For the law appoints men subject to weakness to be high priests,

but the word of the oath, which was taken after the law,

appoints a son, who has been made perfect forever.

The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION (Stand)

Verse: Whoever loves me will keep my word, says the Lord;

and my father will love him and we will come to him.

GOSPEL Mk 12:28b-34

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark All: Glory to you, O Lord.

One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him,

"Which is the first of all the commandments?"

Jesus replied, "The first is this:

Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone!

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,

with all your soul, with all your mind,

and with all your strength.

The second is this:

You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

There is no other commandment greater than

these."

The scribe said to him, "Well said, teacher.

You are right in saying,

'He is One and there is no other than he.'

And 'to love him with all your heart,

with all your understanding, with all your strength,

and to love your neighbor as yourself'

is worth more than all burnt offerings and

sacrifices."

And when Jesus saw that he answered with

understanding, he said to him,

"You are not far from the kingdom of God."

And no one dared to ask him any more questions.

The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

HOMILY (Sit)

CREED (Stand)

I believe in one God,

the Father almighty,

maker of heaven and earth,

of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,

the Only Begotten Son of God,

born of the Father before all ages.

God from God, Light from Light,

true God from true God,

begotten, not made,

consubstantial with the Father;

through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation

he came down from heaven, (Bow until after “and became man,”)

and by the Holy Spirit

was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,

he suffered death and was buried,

and rose again on the third day

in accordance with the Scriptures.

He ascended into heaven

and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and

the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son,

who with the Father and the Son

is adored and glorified,

who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.

I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins

and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead

and the life of the world to come. Amen.

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Presider: With trust in God the rock of our salvation, we place our needs and the needs of others before the Lord.

Deacon:

For Pope Francis, Archbishop Michael, Fr. Bullock, and all who preach the Good News: may their words and

actions inspire others to love of God and love of neighbor. We pray to the Lord.

For nations of the world, particularly those facing political instability and natural disasters: may they cling to God

as a stronghold and receive necessary assistance from people of good will. We pray to the Lord.

For all who labor to gather in the harvest: may they receive just compensation for their labors and be generous in

sharing their yields. We pray to the Lord.

For relationships in need of God’s healing: may disputes be reconciled through the cleansing power of the Holy

Spirit. We pray to the Lord.

For the “Open Wide the Doors to Christ” project to encourage our parish family in continuing our mission to be an

evangelizing community by faith, with love, hope; and for the protection of all who work on our campus. We pray

to the Lord.

For those without adequate food, clothing, or housing to have their needs met through the love of their

neighbors. We pray to the Lord.

For Ariel, and all who seek full initiation into the Catholic Church to grow in the light and love of our Lord. We pray

to the Lord.

For all who have died marked with the sign of faith and those that grieve their loss. In particular, we pray for

Bibiche Mawete, daughter of Camille and Helene; and all the souls named at our Mass of Remembrance. We

remember also the intention offered for this Mass: (5:15pm) Michael Mootz; (10:30am) Damon Nelson. May all

the faithful departed rest in God’s peace. We pray to the Lord.

Presider: God of unfailing love, you sent your son, Jesus to reveal to us the path of salvation. Hear our prayers,

that together we might embrace your will and work to build your Kingdom. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

entered. Online giving and EFT information is available at our website, www.sted.org

Presider: …that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father.

All: May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name,

for our good and the good of all his holy Church.

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER (Stand)

PREFACE The Eucharistic Prayer begins with a dialogue between the Priest and the assembly.

Presider: The Lord be with you. All: And with your spirit.

Presider: Lift up your hearts. All: We lift them up to the Lord.

Presider: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. All: It is right and just.

LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name;

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Presider: …as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

All: For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever.

SIGN OF PEACE The Sign of Peace is intended to express peace, communion, and charity (from Roman Missal, order of

Mass). Please extend the Sign of Peace mindful of the current health situation.

Presider: The peace of the Lord be with you always. All: And with your spirit.

COMMUNION (Kneel) In the socially-distant seating areas (wings and balcony), the Presider will distribute Holy Communion at your spot—stand to

indicate your desire to receive Communion. Those in the two main sections of pews will process forward for Communion.

Priest: Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world.

Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.

All: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,

but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION It is a long-standing Catholic understanding that when serious circumstances prevent one from receiving Holy Communion, an

Act of Spiritual Communion is a source of God’s grace. At livestreamed Masses, we will speak this prayer together, uniting

with those participating by live-stream.

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love you above all things and I desire to receive you in my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you.

Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
