The regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Technical Schools in the County of Camden was held on March 29, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the 1st floor conference room of the Science and Horticultural Center of the Pennsauken Campus. William T. Mink, Ed.D., president, called the meeting to order. The following members were present: Louis Vizoco, Michael Fuhrman and William T. Mink, Ed.D. Lovell Pugh-Bassett, Ph.D. and Alfred C. They broke the school record for wins, finishing with a record of 19-6. They also hosted a NJSIAA playoff game for the first time in many years.

Christine Buck, physical education instructor and PASS committee member, spoke about the PASS (Parents, Administrators, Students, and Staff) Committee.

The Board Secretary certifies that no line item account has been over-expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10 (c) 3 and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district’s financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year and inserted on page 359-A through 359-U. 2. 7. To approve Teri Hardmeyer, Supervisor of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, to submit a

grant application to the In-Depth Grant for New York and New Jersey Schools, in an amount up to

$10,000.00 in professional development and teaching materials. The purpose of the grant is to

academically challenge and engage students by supporting literacy skills with primary source documents.

8. To approve the payment for the Right to Know Compliance Services provided by Rullo & Juillet Associates, Inc., at the following rate: Updating hazardous substance fact sheets and state surveys and saving MSDS information on CDS (one for each school): $7,346.00. 9. To approve the following resolution. WHEREAS, the Camden County Technical Schools enters into certain types of contracts with vendors where the initial cost on same is less than $17,500; and

WHEREAS, because of the nature of these contracts, the total amount of said contract is unable to be determined during the term of said contract because of the type services provided; and

WHEREAS, however, once it is determined and certified in writing that the value of these services will exceed $17,500, it is necessary for the Technical Schools to require submission of additional documentation from said vendor; and

WHEREAS, the contract for Aurora Technology Solutions will now exceed $17,500 which requires the filing of a Political Contribution Disclosure Form; and

WHEREAS, the above named vendor has completed and submitted a Political Contribution Disclosure Form which certifies that it has not made any reportable contributions to a political candidate committee in the County of Camden in the previous year, and that the continuation of the contract will prohibit them from making any reportable contributions through the term of this contract.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the President and Board Members of the Camden County Technical Schools, County of Camden and State of New Jersey that for the reasons set forth in the Preamble hereinabove, it hereby acknowledges that the Political Contribution Disclosure Form has been provided by the above named vendor, together with a Determination of Value signed by the Business Administrator for the Camden County Technical Schools, and said contracts now exceed the sum of $17,500.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

RESOLUTION RATIFYING EMERGENCY REPAIRS CAUSED WIND/ICE DAMAGE TO BASEBALL FIELD NETTING AT THE PENNSAUKEN CAMPUS

WHEREAS, due to a damage to the baseball field netting system at the Pennsauken Campus, there was an emergency need for repair as detailed in the emergency Request Purchase Form; and WHEREAS, Cross Country Cowboy, Inc., was willing and able to provide said services at a cost not to exceed $9,846. WHEREAS, funds were available for this purpose (P.O.972501-17); and WHEREAS, this award was authorized pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-7 and the Emergency Purchase Form attached to the original hereof; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education of the Technical Schools in the County of Camden that the proper School District officials be and are hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to ratify the emergency contract and payment for the removal of the damaged baseball netting and supporting structure from the neighbor’s property at the Pennsauken Campus by Cross Country Cowboy, Inc., 233 13th Street, Hammonton, NJ 08037, for a total cost of Nine Thousand, Eight Hundred Forty Six Dollars and zero Cents ($9,846.00), as provided for pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-7.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF CAMDEN AND CAMDEN COUNTY TECHNICAL SCHOOLS

WHEREAS, the potential for a public health emergency is currently a reality in Camden County

(“County”) and it may be necessary to provide public health services to large numbers of the general

population in a short period of time; and

WHEREAS, the County is responsible for the coordination of a response to a public health emergency

in the County; and

WHEREAS, the Camden County Technical Schools (“Technical Schools”) has facilities suitable for

serving a large number of residents of the county in the event of a public health emergency; and

WHEREAS, the Technical Schools are willing to permit the County to use designated school facilities

and resources for the provision of these services as set forth in the Memorandum of Understanding

attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board Members of the Camden County Technical

Schools Board of Education that it hereby approves the Memorandum of Understanding with the County of

Camden to use its school facilities to provide medical services to the public upon the declaring of a

public health emergency, as inserted on page 359-RRRR through 359-VVVV.

Serabo, Video Production teacher, and their students, to participate in Pennsauken Police Department’s

Mock Crash Video Competition. The videos will be 10 minutes in length and focus on DUI, distracted

driving and bad decision making. Entries will be submitted by May 2017, for a chance to win prizes.

There is no cost to the board of education.

4. To approve the Pennsauken Police to conduct a pre-prom presentation at the pre-prom assembly, June 5, 2017, at no cost to the board of education.

5. To approve for CCTS students in the after-school 21st Century Community Learning Centers’ programs, to

WHEREAS, the Camden County Technical Schools’ Board of Education previously withheld a salary increment to

employee 007018 for the year 2015/16; and

WHEREAS, said employee has requested reconsideration by the Board of Education to restore said increment;

and

WHEREAS, the Board of Education has reviewed said request and has determined that same should be denied as

the basis for the initial denial was a significant violation.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the President and Board Members of the Camden County Technical Schools,

County of Camden, State of New Jersey that it hereby denies the request by employee 007018 for the

restoration of the previously withheld salary increment.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution will take effect immediately upon adoption.

RESOLUTION On motion of Dr. Mink, seconded by Mr. Fuhrman, to approve the following resolution.

RESOLUTION OF THE CAMDEN COUNTY TECHNICAL SCHOOLS APPROVING LOUIS VIZOCO

AS BOARD OF EDUCATION VICE PRESIDENT

WHEREAS, due to the resignation of Alfred Fischer who served as the Vice President for the Camden County

Technical Schools’ Board of Education, it is necessary to appoint a new Vice President for the Board of

Education.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the President and Board Members of the Camden County Technical Schools’ Board

of Education that it hereby approves the appointment of Louis Vizoco as the Vice President for the Board of

Education.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
