Metro has already completed the conversion of reduced-fare College, Senior and Disabled customers to TAP.

Students in kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible for the reduced-fare TAP program. TAP cards help speed boarding and are kinder to the environment than traditional paper passes. Another bene>t of TAP for students is that a lost card may be replaced if they opt for balance protection. The inaugural exhibit, LA Starts Here!, shows the role of Mexicans and Mexican Americans in the founding and shaping of LA’s history and culture from the city’s founding to the present.

CicLAvia Returns To LA Streets April 10 Some seven miles of LA city streets will be closed to car tra;c and open to pedestrians and cyclists on April 10 from 10am to 3pm as CicLAvia returns.

CicLAvia creates a temporary, 45-acre public park for residents to come walk, bicycle, jog and enjoy outdoor activities in a unique recreation space. The route stretches from Boyle Heights, through Downtown and MacArthur Park, to East Hollywood, connecting some of the city’s most park-poor neighborhoods and diverse communities.

K-12 Student Passes Converting To TAP All Metro reduced-fare student paper passes are being converted to TAP, the electronic fare card that is now in use by all other Metro reduced-fare groups. Metro has already completed the conversion of reduced-fare College, Senior and Disabled customers to TAP.

Students in kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible for the reduced-fare TAP program. TAP cards help speed boarding and are kinder to the environment than traditional paper passes. Another bene>t of TAP for students is that a lost card may be replaced if they opt for balance protection. Cherry Blossom Festival In Little Tokyo April 2-3 Celebrate the coming of Spring at the 10th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival April 2-3 on the streets of Little Tokyo in Downtown LA. Show your valid Metro pass or Metro Rail ticket at the ra=le booth and receive three free ra=le tickets.

Adjacent to the Olvera Street marketplace and El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument where LA was founded in 1781, the Mexican American cultural center is housed within the newly renovated Vickrey-Brunswig Building and Plaza House on Main Street. The center also includes 30,000 square feet of garden.

The inaugural exhibit, LA Starts Here!, shows the role of Mexicans and Mexican Americans in the founding and shaping of LA’s history and culture from the city’s founding to the present.

CicLAvia Returns To LA Streets April 10 Some seven miles of LA city streets will be closed to car tra;c and open to pedestrians and cyclists on April 10 from 10am to 3pm as CicLAvia returns.

CicLAvia creates a temporary, 45-acre public park for residents to come walk, bicycle, jog and enjoy outdoor activities in a unique recreation space. The route stretches from Boyle Heights, through Downtown and MacArthur Park, to East Hollywood, connecting some of the city’s most park-poor neighborhoods and diverse communities.
