On July 6th, JUSD Board of Education voted 5-0 to openschools on August 6th in a Distance Learning only modelwhere the child will access their classes at home andonline.

On July 13th, Governor Newsom validated the Board'sdecision to open schools in a Distance Learning model. Theguidelines are ever changing and JUSD will be monitoringthose changes regularly.

The board’s careful decision places the health and safetyof all students and staff as the highest priority for whenschools reopen in the upcoming school year.

WHAT WHAT DISTANCE LEARNINGDISTANCE LEARNING

WILL LOOK LIKEWILL LOOK LIKEStudents will be required to attend online daily direct instruction from their teacher.

Attendance will be taken from teacher-led online lessons.

In addition to online direct instruction, work will be assigned to be completed and turned in.

Grades will be recorded and posted in the traditional manner (letter grades for secondary, 1-4marks for elementary).

The standards taught will be appropriate to the students' current 2020/2021 grade level.
