Courses 5 - 39: Passage and Pioneer Bay Races A 3 The Race Committee may use any of the courses for any of the races. A 4 A Windward Mark may be specified as the first mark of the course after the Start.

This mark will be an orange triangular buoy and will be laid approximately to windward of the starting line at a distance of approximately 0.5 – 0.9 nm from the starting line. The direction of rounding the Windward Mark will be indicated on the Committee Boat – Green for Starboard rounding, Red for Port rounding. If no signal is made the mark is deleted from the course.

A 5 Competitors should note that there may be shallow water around some rounding points specified in the courses. Particular attention is drawn to the reef off Roma Point, the sandbars around Saddleback Island, the areas around Langford Island, Black Island, Hayman Island and Pioneer Rocks.

A 6 Where islands or rocks are mentioned as course marks, the position given shall be the approximate pinnacle of the island.
