Guidelines for Speakers’ Corner Report (15%)
This is an individual written assignment.
Talk for at least 10 minutes (7-Core students) or 15 minutes (5-Core students) on any topic
(except on any sensitive topics related to religion, politics, race, etc.). You may refer to a
palm-sized note once in a while talking. But if you’re found to be reading than speaking, you
need to re-do your SC. Upon finishing the session successfully, claim USSDC points (10
points for 5-Core students / 5 points for 7-Core students) via your USSDC account.
Write a report in a reflection format where you are supposed to reflect on what you have
learnt by joining the Speakers’ Corner in terms of soft skills in general.
Font type: Arial | font size: 11 | 1.5 line spacing | alignment: justify.
Deadline: Submit the report in class 1 week after your individual session.
Attach 2 kinds of proof in the report as attachments at the end of the report:
i. Photo of you doing the Speakers’ Corner.
ii. A print screen of the USSDC-claiming-points process.
Marking Rubrics
CRITERIA MARKS
Introduction (length: one-third to half of a page)
A short summary to detail the task (Date, venue, time, number of participants,
audience, title of your speech, etc.)

Insights/ Lessons (1 to 1.5 page)
Four knowledge/skills/things you’ve learned or gained by joining/ carrying out the
activity – relate them with soft skills in general.

Future Development (1 to 1.5 page)
How are you going to apply the four insights/ skills/ knowledge gained stated in
the insights/ content part for your future self-development, career and life in
general?
