    MAXIMUM PITCHES

    DryVerge System

The DryVerge System provides a neat, maintenance-free verge for most of our slates and profile tiles. With very high resistance to storm damage and with no wet trades required, it removes concerns about mortar failure.

    1. Underlay and batten out the roof extending the underlay over the full width of the gable and extending the tiling battens beyond the masonry, bargeboard or gable ladder by 35mm.

    4. Install the eaves course of roof tiles as per Redland fixing recommendations. Position the Eaves Closure unit over the bottom corner of the eaves course tile (as in Step 3) and screw-fix the unit using the two screws provided in the pack.

    3. Offer up the Eaves Closure unit over the bottom corner of the first tile using the guide line on the unit to ensure they are aligned correctly at the same angle. Check that two holes in the fixing grid of the unit coincide with suitable fixing points in the gable wall or bargeboard; if not then screw-fix an additional short batten (as described in the Note in Step 2) to provide fixing points.

    MAXIMUM PITCHES

Note: There is no maximum pitch on lean-to roofs or where lead roll details are used.

    1. Underlay and batten the roof, carrying the underlay over the full width of the gable and extending the tiling battens beyond masonry, bargeboard or gable ladder by 60mm. Ensure all battens project by the same distance to achieve a straight verge line.

    2. Using the 20 x 2.65mm nails

    tiling batten.

    3. There are then two alternative

    a) Fit the Eaves Closure Unit over the

the bargeboard or masonry through the two most appropriate holes in the Eaves Closure Unit using the two screws provided. Wall plugs will be required if screwing into masonry.

b). Alternatively, taking an Eaves/Ridge Pack, pass the ‘L’ shaped clip through the ‘T’ shaped slot in the Eaves Closure Unit and turn to suit left or right-hand verge. Using the nails provided in the Eaves/

    the fascia board.

    DryVerge System installation instructions

    5. To install the first Verge unit at the eaves, pull the lower flap on the underside of the Verge unit downwards, then secure over the Eaves Closure unit. Make sure the rails engage before sliding up the Verge unit into position - with the bottom of the Verge unit flush with the leading edge of the tile. Note: Where there is a wrap-around eaves gutter or similar situation, modifications to these fixing instructions will be required – see method statement available fron Technical Solutions on 03708 702595.

    7. The rest of the Dry Verge can be fitted and fixed either as the tiling proceeds or after all the tiles are fixed in place. Pull the flap on the underside of the next unit downwards, line up the leading edge of it with the indicator on the installed Verge unit and roll the unit and downwards into place. Release the lower flap and slide up into place to fix into next batten.

    8. Ensuring the internal rails in adjacent Verge units are engaged, slide each unit into position with the leading edge flush with the leading edge of each tile. Single-screw the head of each unit into the next tiling batten using the screws provided in the pack. Note: If there is a significant change of pitch such as a sprocket, mansard or between the eaves course of tiles and the second course, then the internal rails at the bottom of the Verge unit for finishing the second course will not engage, and will need to be removed prior to fitting the second course unit, and the tail of the unit screw-fixed into the gable wall instead.

    10. Complete the ridge either with a Block-End Ridge Tile or Ridge End Cap as per Redland fixing instructions, covering uppermost Verge units at apex and ensuring no gaps.

    9. At the apex where the verge meets the ridge install the Ridge Comb provided. Slide the Ridge Comb into place over the lower edge of the Verge units at the ridge.

    6. Single screw-fix the head of the first Verge unit into the first tiling batten using the screws provided in the pack.
